First Hatch of 2014
The first hatch of the spring is a Basque chicken from my original breeding group on the farm. Wellsummers and Wellsummer cross are also hatching right now. Lighting is very tough when I can't open the incubator so better shots when they are in the brooder.
The bottom shot is the second hatch scheduled for May. That is 60 eggs in an old commercial incubator from Lyon. It holds the temperature amazingly well so I'm curious to compare hatch rates with the little styrofoam ones from Hovabator. That is 4 chicken types (pure and crosses) and some Bourbon Red turkeys.
