Taking care of this kid was like a new lease on life. Everything that he thought he’d never be able to do because of his past, or position, was being fulfilled through some small kid that he’d come to really, truly cherish. 

Drake was his son now. And ought sons be taken on fishing trips?

“Uh... Yeah, that’s probably right...” Champa took the pole and stared at the line.

Baydrake had been hunting at the time. Stalking fish from the river. The last thing he expected to find was a little human. Silver eyes widened in surprise. The dragon swallowed the fish he had in his mouth before leaning his head back down towards the tiny thing.

he is in there , i know he is . eddie glances down at the boy he’s stopped involuntarily , venom taking over his movements , for the moment –– a feat he hated , but tolerated at the very least . it is tremor ; he has been gone for a long time . eddie wondered what , exactly , venom wanted him to do with that information , the conversation in his head silent as he just stared at the boy that , apparently , was just like him . ‘ i’m not a pervert or anythin’ , ’ he assures with a nervous smile . ‘ so don’t –– don’t go home and tell your parents you met some creepy guy on the street , alright , ‘cause i just have a question that i’m tryin’ t’figure out how t’ask . ’ // @childbled

@childbled wanted a starter!

The sound of subtle thwacks were heard nearby, a short ways away from the residence of a local golden chimera. Those sounds almost were the same of construction, with various noises of lumber being cut quietly as it was brought closer to the source. At that very source, a little building was nearly done, from the looks of things it was only missing various pieces of the roof and bits of the siding.

Dark mists swirl around the building as they carry pieces of lumber to where they had to go, each with their own duty to do. The twirling mist came from somewhere on the other side, where there stood a grey feline with a forked tail, almost conducting the mist. He was humming something as he seemingly worked, looking around at the lumber around him as he walks over to a pile, bringing out a claw before marking a pattern onto a board.

Whatever he was working on, he seemed completely focused on the matter. He seems to be doing well for himself too, the building looked sound and stable... but what was it for?

The gentle whir of crickets was the only sound as the elephant glided serenely through the grass under the cover of darkness. She felt a shift in the weight on her shoulders, and lifted up her trunk to check the human boy nestled there had not fallen off with fatigue after their long trip.

“Are you still awake?”

------ She hated leaving Drake on his own, even if he was in a safe and secured place. Even though she was not his biological mother, he was still her son and she fussed over him. Luckily, the Queen had been able to steal a few small things from a nearby human settlement, things that would not be terrible missed from the town’s abundance of food, or a single blanket. And she always did her little scavenges under the cover of night. Her outings were rare so as to not arouse any further suspicion. Trudging back to the cave the two currently called home, the monster chittered softly, casting her gaze into the depths of the cave.
