It was so hot that I ended up spending most of my time in the ocean at Assateague beach. Chincoteague vlog soon I hope? I have an insane amount of footage to go through

Creature Facts From The Kratt Brothers Themselves! Part 1!

While I was waiting to meet Martin Kratt at Wild Kratts Live last Thursday, I overheard him telling some creature facts to the family in front of me, the fact: The live action portion of the Wild Ponies Episode was filmed in Chincoteague, Virginia. Chincoteague is a town on Chincoteague Island which is apart of Virginia’s Eastern Shore.

Some of you may already know the live action portion of this episode was filmed here, I can’t remember if the bros outright said they were in Virginia at the beginning of the episode, but I kinda figured they were because of the mere context of it being about wild ponies. It just made sense given my knowledge of Virginia facts! But to hear Martin say/confirm it was so cool!

Because it means Virginia is kinda sort of responsible for this mess of a creature power suit:

A sika deer. Native to east Asia but brought to Assateague Island a century ago. It had very little fear of humans!
