[Chivalrous Devotion] Dance

It didn’t take long until Sonic took the lead fully. He spun Lancelot around, while the knight tried his hardest to keep up his pace with him. A minute ago, he had been so graceful while dancing, and now he was here, stumbling and sweating. He felt light-headed and could feel all the judging stares around them. Sonic didn’t even pay attention – he just laughed happily as he kept leading, his steps swift and his grip on Lancelot’s hands tighter. It was enough for Lancelot to keep going – if the king wanted to dance like this, who was he to tell him to stop? Who were the other noblemen to tell him what he could do? He had always found the king’s more eccentric side oddly endearing.

Sir Lancelot is known for his strength. He is a dangerous opponent – it almost seems like he has no weaknesses. That's not entirely true. His greatest weakness is his only child, Galahad. Because he would do anything to keep his sweet boy safe and happy.

Concept sketches for my upcoming Lansoni AU fic, Chivalrous Devotion!

50-year-old Sonic finds himself in the world of Camelot again, but this seems to be a different version of that world. Everyone else thinks Sonic is King Arthur who has simply lost his memories. Sonic takes a quick liking to the 50-year-old Lancelot, a lonely single father of the 19-year-old Galahad. He is very fascinated by this mortal version of Shadow. Sonic has to balance his responsibilities as a king and a stepfather for Galahad, while keeping the relationship between him and Lancelot a secret.

Summary: Sonic has reached the ripe age of 50 and is now longing for another adventure. One day, he wakes up back in Camelot, but it’s not the same one he left, as no one seems to remember those events other than Sonic; and on top of it all, they all think that he is the lost king Arthur who has simply lost his memories.

Arthur’s most loyal knight Lancelot is the same age as Sonic and a single parent, who is struggling with his sudden loneliness as his son Galahad has recently moved away. Sonic is enthralled by him, since he’s something that Shadow isn’t; mortal. Given their position as king and his bodyguard, the two quickly become close, closer than their titles would suggest in fact.

Now Sonic is struggling with his new duties and expectations – ones that he didn’t really even ask for in the first place. In the midst of it all, he’s trying to keep his newly blossomed relationship a secret, while also adapting to yet another new, unexpected title; stepfather.
