The kitten was lost, scared, and alone. She couldn’t remember quite exactly how she’d gotten separated from her Mama, all she knew was that one minute she’d been there, and the next she was gone. She’d been looking for her for what seemed like forever, her paws quickly growing sore from all the searching and her belly growling louder and louder the longer she went without food. She’d nibbled on various things here and there, but they hadn’t really tasted good.
She wanted her Mama. Where was her Mama?
She turned a corner and found an alley which had many places to settle down for a nap. Maybe after a good rest she’d find her Mama...
Suddenly, there came a loud bang! as a part of the wall was thrown open. The kitten let out a squeak in surprise as a strange creature stepped out. It was tall and loud, snarling at something in its paw. It had a black pelt around most of its body, but no fur except on its head and around its neck; the fur on his head was gold and shiny while the fur around its neck was black and fluffy. It had a strange mark on its face and scary blue eyes.
Such a terrifying beast! Was this what her Mama called a Human? Her Mama had once told her that Humans could be friendly but also very dangerous, and should not be approached. She’d never asked why...
What if it was because they ate lost kittens?!
Just as she was about to turn tail and run, the Human saw her.
