Chreon Star Wars AU - Bounty Hunter Leon/ Rebel General Chris
Age-gap as Leon was freshly knighted when order 66 happened, while Chris was already a Jedi Master.
Where Leon was supposed to be a Jedi, but the Order Fell on the day he reached Knighthood. His padawan braid was still attached when he made his escape.
A famous podracer, Claire Redfield who was already harbouring a Jedi Youngling named Sherry, helped him escape. Their paths split once they reached a spaceport, Claire had a brother to find and Leon had to get Sherry somewhere safe.
Unfortunately. All too soon they were found and “saved” by a Crime Syndicate calling itself the DS-0.
In truth, Leon was beaten into service, forced to become a bounty hunter, while Sherry was kept under lock and key. She was meant to serve as a reminder as to why he needed to comply.
The only good thing about any of it, was that the DS-0 wanted the Empire gone. So Leon could live with the knife at his throat, and blood on his hands if it meant that he could take it all down. He only wished that Sherry didn’t have to be involved.
It’s not long until there’s a small mission collaboration between the DS-0 and a Rebel Cell called BSAA. The days of the Rebel Alliance are still young, so both sides are grasping at straws, getting people in and out of places. Or saving a senator’s daughter.
Senator Graham was a key founder of the Rebellion as a whole. You wanted the Empire gone, and was willing to fight for it? You got his support, no matter who you were or what you were doing.
Ashley Graham’s kidnapping caused a stir, that brought Leon straight into some secret Alliance hangar. He was supposed to wait for the BSAA operatives to arrive, his back was pressed snuggly against the wall as he watched droids and people walk around.
His senses were sharp and steady, that is why he got so confused when everything around him went taunt. A heavy presence was approaching, something dark, but equally light. So not an inquisitor or worse.
Leon pushed away from the wall, allowing his own presence to reach out. It’s been years since he did it. He tried with Sherry, but the lack of maintenance on her skills, caused the force to become stifled in her. Blocked somehow. Which frankly was for the best.
He stepped out and looked around, hope burning in his chest for what felt like the first time. Then, he found him.
A human man. Large, tall and slightly rugged was standing on the other side of the hall. Already, staring Leon with slightly wide eyes.
Leon doesn’t know how, but he just knew. Instantly. It felt like the force was singing around them, as Leon almost dashed forward, towards the man.
It’s been years. Long, long, years since he felt another one like himself. The warmth of the Temple, the smell of it, the peace and safety— all of it was in this man.
He didn’t stop once he was in front of the man, a fact which he would be embarrassed by later. Instead, Leon all but threw himself into the man’s arms, hands twisting into the dark coat that he wore, shaking with relief.
“I’m not alone.” Leon whispered in a choked tone, his own force signature exploding like the sun. It was dangerous, but he could not care. He thought that him and Sherry were it. That they were the only ones left.
But he was wrong. There was another one, someone else to share the burden, someone who would know, who would understand.
The thick arms enveloped him back only a second later, keeping him close as the man spoke gently. “No. You’re not alone. I am here, I’m right here.”
Chris Redfield, was a former Jedi Master.
He left the order before the great purge happened. His relationship with the order was… mixed to say it lightly.
Chris was taken in at 7, which was far too old by the Jedi standards. He had a knack for insubordination, which drove his Master crazy. Chris remembered his parents, both of which died when he was 14. He felt it. Knew that it was coming, but he was worlds away, and when he finally got to his home planet… he only found Claire. A sister that he never got to know, to love to cherish.
She was 4, when they met. And she was 6 when Chris was caught and taken back, leaving Claire with a neighbour that helped them out these past two years.
“I will visit. No matter what they say, no matter what they think, I will see you again.” he whispered, holding the little girl close to his chest. He slipped a communicator into her pocket, adding. “You know the code. Call me if you need me and I’ll be there.”
And that was that. Chris was taken from his family yet again, watched closely by his Master so that an escape was not an option.
Still. He managed to stay in contact with his sister, visited, sent money that he saved up in the Temple. He did his duty as a Padawan, Knight and somehow got to the rank of Master.
But none of it managed to soften the pain of war. Of friends, civilians, soldiers, beings that were slaughtered. In this his own Padawan Piers…
The loss was too much for him. And so he buried the boy, his entire squad amongst the trees and left.
Soon after, the war ended, the Jedi Order was destroyed. Chris was alone. Well, not completely, as Claire found him, stuck by his side as the Rebellion rose around them. He had his own team, a partner in Captain Valentine.
But he was alone.
He didn’t want to stay a Jedi, but he also never wanted the Order to fall. He never wanted his people to be killed like animals.
So when he felt it. Felt him. Bright as a sun and untrained enough for Chris to sense him. He just knew, that he would protect this young man with everything that he had.
Leon was his now. And Chris would never surrender anything that he cared for.
For once in his life, it was time for Chris to be greedy.
“You’re not alone, Leon. And you never will be.”
So yeah. I see Chris turning into a dark sider later on. Not full blown sith, but he would get darker and possessive over Leon and Sherry when they got her out.
Idk just an idea! Hope that some of you folk see the vision!
An alternative version would be for Chris to be a Mandalorian. And Leon could be a smuggler maybe? Or a Jedi again so that they could clash a bit, as historical enemies! Maybe I’ll do another one of these again!
