“We made it,” Steve spoke, letting out a sigh of relief.
Grinning, you bumped his shoulder gently with yours. The overwhelming feeling of comfort washed over you.
“Oui!” Ewen exclaimed full of excitement. “It’s a pub!”
As soon as the words left his lips, Ewen bolted in the direction he was talking about. Giggling you shook your head, before following him.
Gazing around the room, your eyes landed on your friend before you quickly made your way over.
“Y/N!” He had a drink in his hand, as he was already downing it.
“Hi, Ewen.”
“Where’s Steve?”
“He’s with Diana.” You frowned, before quickly grabbing one of Ewens drinks and downing it yourself.
“There you two are!” Sameer yelled. “I’ve been looking for you, I should’ve known.”
You rolled your eyes. “You should’ve known Ewen would be at the nearest bar and I would follow.” You all laughed at your statement.
As Sameer, sat beside you at the bar, you three were laughing at something that had previously happened. Once the laughter died down, you frowned as Steve still hadn’t joined the group.
“He doesn’t like her you know,” Sameer spoke, nudging you slightly pulling you from your thoughts.
“I don’t know what you’re talking about.”
He hummed in response. “Neither does he.”
Your jaw fell slack at his statement, as you stared at him. “What?” You questioned your voice barely above a whisper.
“Go get him.” Ewen chimed in, leaning closer to you.
The feeling of confidence that was powered by alcohol bubbled up inside. Nodding your head a toothy grin made its way to your lips.
Hopping off your stool, you rushed out of the German pub you were in. Making your way past the threshold, you were greeted with the brisk winter air. Gazing upwards you could see snowflakes beginning to fall. A violent shiver wrecked through your body. With each breath you took, there was a cloud of condensation.
Bringing your gaze back to the small town courtyard, you looked around attempting to find Steve. Making your way further into the middle of the town, you saw Steve and Diana dancing. Smiling, you knew it was Steve’s idea as he was always a gentleman with his heart on his sleeve.
Slowing walking towards them, you were unaware of your two friends behind you. Silently they were hoping you and Steve would share a romantic moment, that they didn’t want to miss.
The closer you got, the more you developed a pit in your stomach. Before you knew it, Diana and Steve were kissing.
Your heart dropped into your stomach, as you froze. Tears began threatening to fall down your cheeks as you gazed at the scene before you. Everything seemed to be moving slower at that moment.
Placing a hand over your mouth, you bolted from the courtyard and back to the small camp that was set up in the woods.

Steve was caught by surprise when Diana kissed him. His heart began beating uncontrollably. Gasping, he took a step back as he respectfully rejected her advances.
The sound of shoes meeting the concrete captured Steve’s attention. Snapping his gaze to the sound, he was surprised to see you running towards the camp. Furrowing his eyebrows in confusion as he gazed at your retreating figure.
“Steve, man,” Ewen spoke, clasping a hand on his shoulder. “You messed up.”
