Yippee! I successfully completed my first Chrobin week! Welp, back to studying (I have finals). Also shout-out to Rebecca Sugar's song Figure it All Out for the idea of this drawing.
My submission for chrobin week might've failed most days but this is my take on devotion.
Yes it's super short.

“We're still searching for you, you know,” Chrom says, staring at the portrait of his wife on the wall, “I can't join everyday anymore. I mean it's been five years. I only get out there about once a month. I tell Luci about you every night. Stories of the past so she knows who her mom is and what she sacrificed. Our people also know about you. You're heralded as a hero. I mean you are, but they don't know how amazing you were. Luckily no one is pushing for me to take a new wife. I'd refuse to anyways, You're the only one for me.” He sighs and puts his head into his hands. The tears soon begin to flow. Time seems to slow down in that moment, he's reminded of the good times, the day they got married comes to mind.
“Chrom!” Robin cheerfully calls out to him, “are you ready sleepy-head?”
He had overslept, he felt embarrassed to have overslept on a day like today.
He quickly gets ready and leaves his tent. Robin comes into view, she wore her usual clothing, but she had a flower crown on. He thinks Sumia or Lissa must have made it for her. She looks beautiful as always but today was special. Today she would become his wife. He had always felt that they were two halves of the same whole but today at least in the eyes of the Shepherds it would be official.
“Gods Robin. You look gorgeous. I'm sorry I couldn't really sleep last night, I was too excited.” He says.
“It's fine, my love.” She says, his heart melted hearing her calling him that, “you look incredible yourself.”
He too wore his usual clothing, after all this wasn't an official wedding ceremony. He had proposed a week ago, she amazingly reciprocated his feelings and they decided that even if they couldn't officially wed. They also didn't want to wait. So they decided to have a secret wedding. One just with their closest allies.
They stood there together, just happy being in each other's presence.
“Milord, milady are you ready?” Frederick asks.
Chrom wanted to say to give them just a moment longer but as if sensing this Robin speaks up first, “Yes. We're ready.”
She extends her hand to him. He graciously accepts it. Together they walk to the tent they have war council meetings at. All of the other Shepherds have already gathered there to witness the occasion.
Frederick started the ceremony, it's all a blur and he doesn't quite remember most of it. The part he remembers the most is their vows.
Robin's vows seemed to come easily to her, “Chrom, you are everything to me. You gave me a life. Trusted me when no one would've blamed you if you hadn't. You gave me your trust, a purpose and your heart. I love you with all of mine.”
“Robin, I'm not as good with words as you. I don't know why you'd choose a fool like me to spend the rest of your life with but I promise to spend the rest of my life showing you just how much I love you.”
After exchanging vows they exchanged rings. Since they can't wear rings on their fingers yet. It would be too obvious, so instead they have their rings on cords that they can hide underneath their shirts.
The memories fade away as he hears little footsteps approaching him.
“Papa? Why are you crying?” Little Luci asks, wrapping her arms around her father's arm.
“Oh. I'm just recalling a memory of your mother.” He says, wiping the tears from his eyes, “say have I ever told you the story of our first wedding? Not the official one. But one we did in secret.”
“No papa,” she says.
“I'd like to hear the story as well if you're willing to tell it, father,” future Lucina says walking in with Morgan. They just returned from the most recent search for Robin.
“Yeah, father! I'd also like to hear it!” Morgan chimes in.
“Alright kids, gather round,” he says beginning to recall the story for them.
Barely finished this in time! Apparently the idea of making essentially three illustrations at once is not the best idea. Anyway, disclaimer below.
As I did not have much time for this illustration, I did heavily reference this screenshot from Awakening. In addition, I did trace the hands (because I was not having an easy time drawing them on my own). Normally, I do not do this in my art, but since I am not going to make money from this illustration, and I am doing this challenge for fun, I allowed myself to do this for this one illustration.
Anyway, here is my piece of top of the reference, in case anyone wants that.
