One: Ask one of your friends, instead. If they're also working on a story, you can return the favor.

That's how Mary Shelly wrote Frankenstein (yes, she wrote it based on a dream, but she and her friends were all stuck in a rainy summer writing stories together).
Two: Call your grandma, and ask her for an idea. I'm sure she'd love to hear from you when it's not a holiday or her birthday.
Even if she gives you an idea that you know is all wrong, the reasons why it's wrong that spring to mind immediately, will help you figure out what's right.
Three: (if you don't have a grandma to give you wrong answers) Personify that Inner Critic in your head, and write down all the things it says about how your story is stupid. Then, write down your answers arguing back about why your story is a good idea.
At least the page won't be blank, anymore. And you can recycle your Inner Critic and make it into your story's villain.
There is zero reason on this, Our Earth, to ever use a plagiarism machine.

Howdy our wonderful Workshop spectators! After many hours spent writing, debugging, and beta testing, we are proud to release Kaidan Revoiced - Community Expansion 2.0! You can read the full changelog here.
First, we would like to thank you, the spectators, for your continued support, patience, and kind words. It has meant a great deal to the staff of the Workshop as we continue to develop our vision for Kaidan. With your encouragement and inspiration, we have begun laying the creative groundwork for our future releases; you helped us determine that Kaidan's morality would be narrative-centric, and we are making strides to incorporate this into his commentary and overall story of redemption and self-identity. Our staff are humbled by your support for this endeavor.
This 2.0 update was a true labor of love, totaling to around 700 new lines and 14 major content features to Kaidan. For reference, KRCE 1.0 has 1,500 lines. We were driven to build on ways to make Kaidan feel more alive and interactive. Given these major changes, a fresh save is required!
First, we've changed how Kaidan is introduced. His introduction quest, A Bounty for Hunter, will no longer appear automatically in your quest journal. Instead, there will be a couple of ways for the player to start the quest naturally. Players will also notice various quality of life and other immersive changes sprinkled throughout his introduction.
Once you recruit Kaidan, players will notice Kaidan’s idle commentary has been expanded. From remarks on the weather, the player's skills, and various locations, Kaidan will have more to say about the world than ever before. This includes roleplay options for players with 14 new backgrounds, 11 new homelands, and over 30 new religious responses that Kaidan will respond to and helps ensure the character you present to Kaidan reflects who they are.
We have also expanded his commentary during Skyrim’s main quest where Kaidan now has reactions for alternative starts, idles, and conversations tied to major story moments. This includes a before and after conversation from Sovngarde.
Along with the main questline, we are thrilled to introduce unique commentary for Paarthurnax Quest Expansion by Jayserpa! This is a patch that focuses on Kaidan’s morality and his journey of redemption in which Kaidan will have set beliefs that he will hold to, no matter what you decide to do.
Kaidan also now has expanded dialogue for the Companions and College of Winterhold questlines. With these additions to Kaidan’s dialogue, we have also included three new unlockable titles: Thane, Harbinger, and Arch-Mage to Kaidan’s nickname system.
In addition to questline commentary, the Book Review Pack allows Kaidan to provide more commentary on the various books that you may encounter in your journeys across Skyrim. If the book is among those he can comment on, all his responses will be unique to the book given and you can ask him for his thoughts on those books. After completing the mini-quest of collecting the Eslaf Erol series for Kaidan this will unlock Kaidan’s training dialogue! Kaidan will be able to help train you in a handful of combat skills that he himself is proficient in: Archery, Block, Heavy Armor, One-handed, Two-handed, and Stamina! These scenes will also involve unique commentary and sound effects based on player skill.
We have also added new interactions between Kaidan and his horse, Kiai! She will now start her journey as “Horse” until Kaidan gives her the name “Kiai” as Kaidan definitely does not get attached.
Along with this, we now have patchless compatibility with the mod I’m Glad You’re Here with full nickname and title support and responses based on location, progression, and friendship/romance level with Kaidan! When the mod is enabled, the vanilla romantic hugs will be replaced with a custom hug animation— no more vampire hugs! DAR or OAR are required to ensure the custom hug animation works.
Lucien fans rejoice! By popular demand, a patch for Kaidan and Lucien’s banter is now available! All existing banter between them has been fully revoiced with Kaidan’s new voice actor, Paul Warren.
Along with these new expansions, patches, and additions to Kaidan’s integration into Skyrim, we have also included general changes and bug fixes to improve overall quality of life.
We look forward to everyone experiencing Kaidan Revoiced- Community Expansion 2.0 and hope you love what we have created as much as we loved creating it. The more I think about it, the more pumped I am for Zerith in Revelation. The two of them being so prominent on the key art makes me think they’ll be playable in the Lifestream sequences together, plus the remake project has been teasing their reunion for years, which means…
Heartwarming tearjerker of a Zerith reunion? Zerith fighting together side by side? Possible Zerith syngeries? I’m so pumped because we haven’t really seen these things before (outside of EC stuff) and I just 🥹 🥹 🥹 at the thought, even if they’re only playable for a battle or two.
Also, I want more Zerith flirting and banter, especially now that they’re older. Especially if they’re fighting side by side, as that’s a prime opportunity for flirting, compliments, banter, etc.

The best part of your daughter being born (aside from getting to have a daughter with your beloved husband), was the fact that you could finally rest.
After the Plegian war came to an end, the marriage and coronation followed swiftly after. It was just one thing after another. Chrom seemed used to it given his experience as a royal, but for you it was a bit more difficult to adapt to all the expectations of being queen.
But shortly after discovering you were pregnant, many of your newfound duties were relaxed so you could focus on the baby.
And now that she was here, you were currently on the second week of maternity, resting in the royal chambers and cooing over the beautiful little girl in your arms, who was the spitting image of her father.
Said father had unfortunately far too many duties to ignore. While he did his best to be with you as often as he could for the first week, the second week of Lucina’s life couldn’t hold off the demands of work any longer.
But it wouldn’t stop him from hurrying back to the chambers eary, though.
Which is precisely what happened that evening.
The doors to your shared bedroom quietly pushed open, and a very dashing young Exalt peered inside.
“Robin? Are you awake?” His voice was so gentle, which always warmed your heart.
You caught his eye from across the room, motioning for him to join you and the swaddled baby blue bird in your arms.
“I haven’t slept since you checked on us this afternoon.” You patted the spot on the bed beside you, “And don’t worry about staying quiet; Lucina’s awake, too.”
“Neither of you should be, but Lucina being awake is the most surprising.” Chrom remarked as he unclasped his cape and pulled off his boots before coming to the bed. The mattress creaked under his knee, while he leaned down to kiss your forehead.
“How do you feel?”
“I am well.” You assured him, “Lissa and Maribelle gave us a clean bill of health for her 14-day check. Lucina’s gaining weight as she should, and all this bed rest has my healing on schedule.”
He smiled, “I’m glad to hear you’re both doing so well. I only wish I could’ve attended, too.”
“It was only a routine appointment; I doubt it would’ve been all that interesting for you.”
“Are you kidding? I think about what you two are doing all day!”
“You miss us that much, huh?” You joked, but it was quite true. Chrom bowed his head with a sigh, all but sinking down beside you.
“You have no idea…Frederick’s done his best to take care of what he could, but there’s still a mountain of work I have to handle. Even if I wanted to stay here with you two, I'd likely be dragged away.”
“I’m sorry you have to work so hard. I wish you could take some time off with us…or that I could at least pick up some slack. Surely there are some approvals that the queen’s seal is good enough for.”
Chrom smiled some, leaning his head against yours. “It’s the thought that counts. If I could have my way I wouldn’t leave this room for a month!”
“I think you might get a bit stir crazy.” You joked, but Chrom wouldn’t have it.
“Hmm...maybe if we were stuck in here, specifically. So instead, I'll just whisk the two of you away up into the mountains, somewhere. Royal duties be damned.” Gentle fingers brushed along Lucina’s pink cheek, making the newborn squeak and squirm. “Although I fear Frederick would track us down in less than a day.”
“Best not to test our luck.” You chuckled. Chrom wrapped his arm around you, drawing his girls close.
“I’ll just have to make do with the time I’ve got now…and maybe see if I can’t guilt the other nobles into letting me sneak away earlier. I hate to leave you alone for so long.”
“It’s not so bad. Lucina is a very peaceful baby. But if you're offering to change her nappies, I won’t fight you.”
“If that is what you need me to do, of course I will!”
You watched her little face twist in displeasure, threatening you with a cry that would surely take a long time to soothe. She hadn't been the center of attention for nearly 10 minutes, by now!
But Chrom was quick- he slipped his arm from your shoulders to take up the little bundle, rising back to his feet so he might soothe her with a gentle bounce and walk about the room.
“Really? The Exalt of Ylisse would change a baby’s blowout?
“Er…well, I…may need a little bit of educating, but if you insist…”
The blush on his face was simply adorable. You fell back into the pillows with a giggle. “To think I married such a chivalrous and capable man. There are few who would be willing to take on such a dangerous task, let alone the ruler of the kingdom!”
“To be fair, I don’t think there’s a single Shepherd that wouldn’t change their baby; Frederick and Phila both wouldn’t have allowed passive fathers into the army to begin with.” Chrom mused, cuddling the still-squirming newborn close. “Isn’t that right, Luci? He would string me up by my toes if I made Mama do everything…er, if we didn’t have nursemaids to help.”
“Honestly I think he would be more mortified that the royal parents are even considering doing anything like that. It feels a little unfair…”
Chrom quieted the little girl without effort; in moments she was snoozing happily against her father’s strong heartbeat, snuggled safe and sound.
Carefully he returned to your side, settling into his side of the bed. Your head fell to his shoulder, the two of you gazing at the sweet princess.
“You know…if you really wanted to raise her in a more hands-on way, we could discuss it. Emmeryn practically raised Lissa and I, between how our parents were and the state of the kingdom during that war...well, you know."
“I won’t lie, it would be wonderful to raise her like a semi-normal family. But we don’t have to worry about that right now.”
“No?”
“Maribelle won’t let me lift a finger until Lucina’s at least a month old. Do you really want to take her on?”
A shiver ran down his spine. “Ah…no, I don’t believe so. Best to stay put than face her fury.”
Another chuckle. “Good answer.”
The two of you settled in for the evening, fawning over your beautiful girl, wondering what kind of person she might grow up to be.
And Maribelle would be quite pleased to find you continuing to rest…but lamented Chrom having come in to harass the queen and princess (honestly, couldn’t he see he was keeping you up?! How inconsiderate!)-- ah, well. At least you all looked happy cuddled into bed, together.
