The 1st episode of 2nd G.I. Joe series premiered on September 25, 1990. Dic took over production from Sunbow. With the change of companies came a new theme song. The second series followed the animated movie and the mini-series Operation Dragon Fire. For the most part, the second series, which ran for 2 seasons and 39 episodes, was not as highly regarded by fans as the previous series. ("United We Stand" G.I. Joe vol 2, TV Event)
This JLA/JSA crossover is remembered primarily for the retcon that Dinah (Black Canary) is actually the daughter of the original. Trust me, the full story is a lot weirder than that. Gorgeous art by Chuck Payton on the interiors and George Perez on covers.
