Honestly, I don’t think Link knows what genders are since they woke up from the shrine knowing basically nothing and it’s not something that would probably come up in everyday conversation since there are more pressing matters to talk about. Like the first time it probably comes up is when they get to Gerudo town and it just goes down like
Gerduo Guard: “Men aren’t allowed in the city, only women.”
Link: “I don’t know what those are but I’m a Link ‘cause that’s my name.”
Tecna’s transformation pose in the comics is just her T-posing for dominance and I for one respect that.

If Link’s arm is being infected with malice then left untreated it would either kill or possess him if it reaches his heart/brain. The binds we see being attached to his hand are wards of some kind keeping it from spreading any further.
Once everything is over with and Ganon’s defeated and he’s reunited with Zelda I could see her probably being able to heal his arm with her Goddess power but I also really like the idea of once the wards are gone that underneath is just a dead arm/flesh and without the aid whatever magic was there before it would be unusable. Cue it being amputated and that’s how Link gets a cool Sheikah prosthetic.
Mirta was never a witch. When she was younger and trying to befriend Lucy she lied saying she was a witch too so that they'd have something in common. As time went on Mirta never came clean about not being a witch because she thought her only friend would hate. Instead she just went along with Lucy, practicing dark magic and applying to cloud tower. Her grades were good enough for her to get in despite whatever issues she had committing to practicing darker spells. She had a lot of time to think after being turned into a pumpkin and decided once things were back to "normal" that'd she'd tell everyone the truth, she had been a fairy all along.
How did she do this? Well, her magic is illusion based so that help with covering any transformations she did or didn’t have. As for the staff being able to tell a witch from a fairy do to magic affinity they're there to teach the students how to use dark magic so if one student doesn't show strong signs of being proficient yet it's okay because Mirta’s a first year. If she had stayed at Cloud Tower it would have gotten more obvious as she got older/powerful.
I started a new save file and a blood moon started while I was in the Thyphlo Ruins and it honestly looks so cool. Bonus Fierce Deity mask bc the eyes made a neat silhouette.
