“August 2015″ by Quinn Cicala (2018)
This video slowly came together shot-by-shot in my head the more I listened to this song. I aimed to make something similar to the last video we did together (Diner in Poughkeepsie) but much much better. I wanted that similar vibe, where it feels like Quinn is talking to you, as most of his album has a stream of consciousness feel to it.
In this one I paid a lot more attention to how each frame plays into each other than I normally do. You can probably tell form the video itself, filming the drums was my favorite part. Getting comfortable moving the camera to create interesting visuals is always a challenge, but it’s v helpful when i have great musicians to give me something to move around to.
