The 4th Cebu International Documentary Film Festival (August 2015)
Popemania — Official Selection, Short Documentary Category
I was beyond honored to represent our short documentary, Popemania, at the 4th Cebu International Documentary Film Festival. Out of around 500 submissions from all over the world, only 110 films were selected, and Popemania was one of the nine films to represent the Philippines. I was also one of the youngest—if not the youngest—director at the festival.
The abundance of wonderful experiences that I had in the span of eight days was so beautifully overwhelming. I got to meet so many talented fellow filmmakers, receive exposure by so much press, and tour the documentary-worthy attractions of Cebu thanks to the friendly locals and the Department of Tourism. Popemania was also screened in the following locations: University of the Philippines Cebu, St. Theresa's College of Cebu City, Film & Media Arts International Academy, and Waterfront Cebu City Hotel & Casino. What a wonderful, blessed experience. To more film festivals in the future!
