This hefty boy is the Saciar by Tabac. 5.5″ by 56 ring gauge. At first glance I assumed it was a Corojo wrapper with its silky shine. It sports a unique Sancti Espiritu Hybrid wrapper. When I say unique, I mean it. This cigar is very unique especially in flavor. The binder is a Criollo 98 from what is called the “viso”, which is just below the highest leaves on the plant called the ligero. The filler is good old Nicaraguan. The word “saciar” is Spanish for “satiate - satisfied to the full”. I would start with the positives of this cigar. It has a very attractive sheen the wrapper is nice. If I were to rate the aroma it is full bodied it is gorgeous it smells like chocolate covered hay. The roll is well done, the pack is quite firm. The draw is snug but not too much so. The cold draw is intense, I picked up chocolate liqueur. Upon first light I immediately tasted a very rich smokiness like that of roasted green chile, especially on the retro hale. Most people don’t know the experience of roasted green chile outside in early Fall, the smell especially is spectacular and you need to experience it. I picked up black pepper, black cherry, and cedar. The finish is thick with a strong dark chocolate. The roasted green chile made this cigar one of the most unique I have ever had. There was a certain mustiness to this cigar, for lack of a better term. This wasn’t terrible and it was subtle but it was not great. The negative of this cigar is the nicotine strength. It is absolutely full strength by the halfway point it knocked me off my chair! I am not a fan of very strong cigars nicotine-wise. At least it’s flavors make up for it’s strength intensity. This is a full bodied stick in my opinion 9/10, as well as full strength 9/10. As interesting as it is with a great name, simple yet understated band, the nicotine strength for me took away from the experience. I rate this cigar 6 chiles out of 10.
