I've Been Waiting...

I want to credit @monstermonger for inspiring the style of this one. Her style gives me whatever the visual equivalent of ASMR is. It makes my eyes water (in a good way lol).

When I was young I used to ink with pen a lot, sometimes painting in with watercolor, but I'd gotten out of that since learning digital art. I'm finding I miss it. There's something about nice black ink that tickles my brain. With this piece I wanted to try to imitate the technique digitally. You can be the judge as to whether I achieved that.

The pose was inspired by an Amur leopard at the Cleveland Zoo. My friends and I went on a rainy day, and it was very quiet. There were times when we were all alone, just us and the animals. We were standing in an empty courtyard reading informational signs, and when we turned and looked up, we were surprised to see the beautiful Amur leopard laying sprawled on the overhead walkway, just watching us serenely.

Your cute sphinx story popped up while I was taking a break in the middle of cleaning out my book collection. I feel so bad for the poor thing. That had to be soooo scary. I swear I’d want to make it up to her that some humans were assholes to her.

So because I was sorting through 1,000 books to make room on the best bookshelf for Moth and the Bear, my immediate random thought was…Maybe if she likes books I could give her two crate loads at the very edge of the territory (to make a safe escape) and a letter saying “Sorry other humans were awful to you, hope you enjoy these as you deserve an act of kindness”

In summary, poor kitty. I have extra books as I make room for recently acquired awesome ones on the shelf so I should share.
