Kheii Jahl Ref Sheet ✨️

Kheii Jahl, ringmaster of the Jewel Circus, owned and run by his older brother, Qariev.

I love color coding things

I think I've pretty well figured out the formula for these ref sheets: rendered full body, flats front and back (+ flats front and back w/o clothes if necessary; probably won't do this for human characters), and 3 expressions, plus name and pronouns. The arrangement also leaves room for additional props (such as Mal's sword).

I'm planning on doing the other protagonist of the Jewel Circus (and Kheii's partner), August, next (but no promises).

The Bob Mackie Circus Barbie was a 2010 Gold Label release created by fashion designer Bob Mackie - I'm sure you have seen his name many times on my Barbie lore posts, as he has created some incredible collectors edition Barbies over the years.

Aside from the fact that Circus Barbie is an incredible design, part ringmaster and part aerialist, she is also the only Barbie to have her particular body design.

There are a number of different types of Barbie bodies, with different dimensions and articulation points. This famously made the Queen Elizabeth II doll highly sought after - because she was the first Barbie ever released with a fully articulated petite body.

Circus Barbie definitely stands out and I have to say I am wildly unsurprised that I couldn't find any of her on the secondary market to price check.
