• Tonight’s PFS class was probably the most straight up hood class that’s happened since I can remember. • A lot of improvisational blade work worked out of basic knife tapping. • Most of the pics are poor, but it was hot as hell, and the class pace was fast, disgruntled, and somewhat misanthropic. • My favorite is pic #6 - I heard @sofakingdilly connect that body check right before I saw it. • Saturday PFS - Worked Wing Chun trapping from counters to the boxing jab. • It’s necessary to work trapping from the traditional reference points to gain understanding and aptitude in the mechanics, details, and feel of the techniques. Ended PFS class on Saturday with a long knife sparring session. Sparring is a great way to build athleticism and train attributes in a real time environment. It's also a great platform to try techniques, tactics, and concepts against an uncooperative opponent. One of the things I like about sparring with the blade is, if you respect what the blade can do, you can't afford to be reckless, and it's easier to get beginners into a survival mindset.
