Just remembered a small detail in the Christmas special, namely that Hordak only had orders to deliver the children to Prime (tough not sure, hard to understand Prime at parts), and after grabbing the two, he sends another beam at Orko too, low-key hinting that he stll remembered he wanted to send him too at one time. Also Skeletor could have grabbed Orko too when he got the children, but he did not, just blasted him away.

Huh, that’s a neat little detail. Yeah, Skeletor doesn’t have any use for Orko but the Horde has shown interest in him before. It’s never really explained exactly why Hordak is interested in him though, besides ‘I don’t know what this thing is’. Maybe scientific curiosity?

Skeletor of course has that lazer-like focus and only pays attention to things that can help him reach his goals. The lack of appreciation for science probably got on Hordak’s nerves. That’s why they broke up
