THE DOCTOR
BASICS:
age: 40 billion+, looks mid-50s (sometimes) species: time lord occupation: adventurer/part-time caretaker romantic/sexual orientation: grey-romantic, asexual
ABOUT:
♦ The Doctor comes and goes as he pleases, which means it can be any generation at any point in time. He’s well aware of the rift activity and spike in alien invasions that are going on at and near Coal Hill Academy, but he’s not too bothered by them. Well that was until he discovered many of his companions began to show up and populate the school. Then, he discovered UNIT and Torchwood began to get involved, which really set him off. So now he’s taken it as a personal mission to fix things himself, he just needs to avoid a few certain persons every now and then.
♦ No matter what regeneration that shows up, the Doctor will always go by the alias of ‘John Smith’ and will continuously take on the mantle of Caretaker for the school. Many people believe there’s about twelve different Caretakers, and wonder why Coal Hill needs that many, but really, it’s just the Doctor. (He’s also not a very good Caretaker and tends to only clean one hallway, neglecting the rest of the school.) ♦ Sometimes, when no one’s around or looking, the Doctor will stick strange devices in places so that he can always keep an eye on the school. Of course, why he would plant one in Clara’s room is a mystery to most, and he’s just counting down the days until Clara finds it. ♦ Stores his TARDIS in the shed or the broom closet when he’s at the school. Many students and some faculty wonder what happens when one version of the Doctor goes in, and another comes out. There’s rumours going around that it’s a portal to another world... and well, they wouldn’t be entirely wrong. ♦ The Doctor avoids certain people, either because they left on bad terms, or because he doesn’t want them to know he’s there. Oftentimes, he escapes through windows or up into the ceiling to avoid detection. Usually it ends with him being seen. He’s not very good at going under the radar.
personality:
The Doctor isn’t one to beat around the bush, unless, of course, said bush has a infestation problem and the only way to cure it is to actually beat around it. He’s an odd alien who does things in his own time (which is to say, not linear and not slow like it is for humans). Sometimes he’ll spout off random facts and help students with classwork, and sometimes he’ll literally hiss at children. It’s a gamble and one that leaves his companions wondering what face they’re going to get that week. Still, deep down, the Doctor is one of the most caring and protective individuals that anyone would be lucky to meet. He doesn’t always see himself as that, preferring to state that he doesn’t care, or that he can’t, but he knows better and he always tries very hard to show that he’s trying.
☑ intelligent, quick-witted, caring ☒ stubborn, hubris, guilt-ridden
CONNECTIONS:
♢ Clara Oswald: The Doctor knows her. Or did. Or will. Or has... He’s not always sure, but there’s certainly something about that English teacher that keeps drawing him to her. Sometimes it seems to him that she just ‘gets’ him, and that he doesn’t have to say too much in order for her to become his interpreter. Fiercely though, he protects her, no matter what face he’s in, and he knows that ought to count for something. ♢ Madame Vastra: Sometimes the Doctor really wonders if she’s not stalking him. After all, she’s a lizard lady and quite frankly, don’t lizards stalk things? Still, he knows he can trust her and is happy to find that she’s opened up a shop across the way from the school. Not only can her get information, but he can also get tea. (It’s a win in his book). ♢ Metacrisis Doctor: The Doctor’s Metacrisis, a person that the Time Lord has always struggled with on how to act around and towards. It’s not that he doesn’t love him, he does, but it’s hard to look in the face of a man who can reflect his own past misgivings. Still, once he discovered that the Metacrisis was back within his own universe, the Doctor has decided that it’s high time to fully investigate... and to see what it is he can do to help.
