An inner city district of Hackney in London, England. And home to one of the biggest Time Rifts in all of the UK, conveniently located right under Coal Hill Academy. With near constant alien activity, it was only a matter of time before this hopping spot got some attention from aliens and earth protectors alike. But who is drawing all of The Doctor's companions (past and present) to this place? And what have they got planned?
THECLASSRP is an au Doctor Who group roleplay, inspired by BBC's spin off CLASS, set during the 8th-ish series of Doctor Who. TOTAL NUMBER OF TAKEN CHARACTERS: CANONS: 6/16
OCs: 2/4 [+] mobile nav.
Yes, River Song is absolutely wanted in this game! We’d love to see her - along with our other open roles -- in the game. I’m sure our Amy and Rory would be excited to have their daughter around, even if they can’t quite remember her at the ‘mo. We hope to see an application from you soon!!
Hello Doctors, Nurses, Teachers, Time Travellers and Tea Enthusiasts -- we do hope you’ve been enjoying yourselves. It’s officially been a month (wooot!!) since this game has been open and running, and we’re pleased to see everyone seems to be getting on well.
.... Maybe a little too well.
But what’s that? Did you feel it? That shift in the air? Sceptics would call it winter, but those of us who have been around the universe a few times, know better than to shrug it off so quickly.
No, something’s definitely up. And it’s affecting the humans in and around Coal Hill Academy. Evoking an emotion not uncommon to many, but when felt in extremes can be dangerous.... JEALOUSY.
Yes, the (figurative) green-eyed monster has been preying on the humans in and around Shoreditch. Resulting in increased frustration, passive aggression, and coveting of thy neighbours... well, you know. It starts out slow. You might not even notice it’s affected you at all, at first, but once you’ve been bit... it’s only a matter of time before it takes over.
HOW DOES THIS WORK?:
This event will last through the month of February. Admins will drop plot points or prompts as necessary.
This event only affects characters that are human. Like stated earlier this should start slow, building up over the length of the month -- but how this presents in your character is totally up to you! Those who are quick-tempered might find themselves increasingly giving into those impulses while those who are insecure might find they’re drawing inwards, so have fun with it! Humans will NOT notice this change in their behaviour. However, the aliens in their lives will. Again, how they notice or what they do with that information is completely up to you!
For this event, we do require all players to start at least one new interaction on the dash (para/chat/whatever) -- though more is definitely encouraged, we understand with the demands of everyday life (school, work, responsibilities) this may not be possible (and that is totally okay!!) so as long as everyone gets the chance to participate in some way, we’re happy. Note: we will be asking all players to write up a summary of their experience through the events (ie. headcanons (discussed, or individual), threads, how your character was affected or how they might have helped solve the problem, etc.)
This only affects NEW interactions (aka starting now), and should not impact any old dash interactions (meaning, you are allowed to finish old threads, and are totally encouraged to do so, just remember they exist somewhere in the verse PRIOR to this event.)
Most importantly, we just want you all to have FUN with this, whatever that means for you! If you have any questions/comments/requests, do not hesitate to contact us at the main, and we will get back to you as quickly as possible.
Since our Doctor currently plays all the regenerations, we will not be accepting past incarnations at this time. However, we have plenty of open canon and oc characters, if you’re interested!
Thank you ANGIE for your audition for RORY WILLIAMS! We were so pleased to see your application in the mail and after reading it we’re happy to say that we love your rendition of Rory and we can’t wait to see him interact with everyone in-game! We’re pleased to say that you have been accepted!
Please create and send in your account within 24 hours, thank you!

IN-CHARACTER INFORMATION
Character desired: Rory Williams
Character’s age: 35
Sexual and Romantic orientation: Pansexual, panromantic
Ships: RoryxAmy, RoryxAmyxDoctor, RoryxDoctor, RoryxChemistry
Anti-Ships: Roryxforced, Roryxnochemistry
Character biography/history: He loves Amy’s stories. Always has and always will. But he can’t help the feeling that the stories are perhaps more familiar than they should be. He’s always put that down to how often he’s heard them and gone on with his life, but even that doesn’t seem quite right.
Character traits:
Amy Pond-Amy was the love of his life from the moment he moved in next door. Some of the areas around his 20s with her are a little blurry but that’s only to be expected. They were 20 after all.
The Doctor-Amy’s rather fond of the school caretakers. At first perhaps he was a little concerned, a little bit of insecurity lingering from childhood. But as time as gone on he’s gotten rather fond of them as well, particularly the one with a rather big chin as well as the scottish one that stops by sometimes.
River Song-He’s not sure why there’s an ache in his chest every time he sees the art teacher, or a certain sense of protectiveness that normally only comes when he’s around his wife. He’s yet to mention it to anyone, well aware of how little sense it makes.
PARAGRAPH SAMPLE
He’d known when he started traveling with the Doctor that it was dangerous. After all it was only a few adventures in when he died for the first time. Still, even that was somehow less painful than this, his entire body aching as he slowly drags himself towards the TARDIS. He’s almost reluctant to bang on the door, reluctant to give the Doctor any more reason to feel guilty. Unfortunately the TARDIS is bound to be the best option for the current situation, he’s not sure the local hospital knows what to do with wounds caused by aliens. The door opens and he tries his best to muster a weak smile, the blood in his mouth ruining the half-hearted attempt.
“ Doctor. “
_____________
He’s never seen the Doctor sleep. He’s never actually been sure the time lord slept at all. Yet, here they are, Amy asleep on his shoulder and the Doctor asleep on his lap. The movie credits continue to roll on as he gently reaches towards the blanket bunched up next to Amy’s feet, pulling it up over here before repeating the motion for the man on his other side. The rush of affection he’s feeling is almost overwhelming, a hand reaching out to smooth down the Doctor’s hair. If he could freeze a single moment in time and live in it, he’d pick this one. He’s got the two most important people in his life with him, both of them looking more peaceful then he’s seen in a very long time.
“ Goodnight you two. “
_________
“ He doesn’t talk about you. “ If anything scares him, it’s that. It was unrealistic to think that he and Amy were the only ones, and if anything he’s grateful that someone has kept him company when the two of them couldn’t not. But here he is, face to face with someone he’s yet to hear of and the nagging fear that’s now planted in the back of his head is that years later, when the Ponds have gone, is that the Doctor won’t talk about them either.
IN-CHARACTER QUESTIONS
What are your character’s last three texts sent? And to whom?
[text: Amy] You do realize leaving treats outside of the shed for a caretaker you hardly know is a bit odd, right?
[text: Amy] Quick question, why is the Doctor raggedy? What does raggedy even look like?
[text: Amy] Please stop stalking the caretakers people are starting to ask me if you’re having an affair.
What would be your character’s last three social media posts?
Twitter: Someone came in today with a lightbulb up their butt. Sometimes I question my career choice
Twitter: I just asked Amy what her book was called and she threw the manuscript at me and told me to shut up and let her work.
Twitter: Amy keeps making fun of me for singing Moana in the morning
What are the very first three things your character does when they get up in the morning?
♦ Evie works at the same hospital as Martha and Rory, and is basically only an insider due to the fact that, well, they came through the rift – a refugee intent on making a better life for their child. Nobody knows about their status as alien, and they intend to keep it that way. Or at least that’s the plan. But as everyone in the whoniverse knows, things very rarely go according to plan.
♦ though she tries very hard to keep under the radar and away from all things rift/alien related (she really just wants to give her daughter a chance at a life she can’t have), her daughter Millie actually just started this past september at coal hill academy – the home of the very rift the mother/daughter duo snuck through – thus putting her in a position where she (and her daughter) are forced to interact with people she thinks might be involved in all the alien business. she’d considered kicking up a fuss in order to get her daughter into another school district, but she didn’t want to draw any extra attention to them – rule # 1 of being an alien refugee? keep a low profile.
♦ picked her current alias by doing a quick google search and picking at random a first and last name from the list of top 100 most common names in the uk. the more generic the name the better, she figured. but she hadn’t exactly counted on being surrounded by quite so many smiths when she’d chosen it. better to be boring than tracked down by the blorgon mafia, yeah?
♦ she is of a humanoid alien race which has a mutation gene that allows them to take on the form of whatever sentient creature that makes contact with her bare skin. she can control this power, a little bit, by slowing down the process– but so long as there is contact she will take on the physical structure of the being (conversely once contact is broken she is able to return to her natural form), though she is able to hold this mutation as long as she likes it does come with a cost – she is able to see the future of whoever’s entity she wears, and that is very rarely a good thing.
personality:
☑ caring, courageous, intelligent, enthusiastic.
☒ cautious, guarded, know it all, perfectionist.
CONNECTIONS:
♢ Rory Williams: Her favourite male nurse. Rory is kind, dedicated, brilliant with children, and doesn’t ask too many questions which are… actually exactly the traits Evie looks for in a friend these days. Someone, she can enjoy a laugh with, who has no interest in prying into her personal life. So they’ll sit together in the canteen if they happen to share a lunch break, or meet up for the occasional coffee – he’ll share stories about his very ginger wife, and she’ll share anecdotes about Millie and that’s good enough, isn’t it?
♢ Martha Jones: Evie and Martha work together in the ER, and if she’s honest she sort of looks up to Martha… in a way. She thinks she’s a brilliant and capable physician, especially considering the obsolete tech the year 2016 provides. She thinks they could actually be pretty good friends – both kind, quietly, slightly nerdy individuals. It’s just… she gets the sense that Martha knows a bit more about the rift and the resulting alien activity than she lets on. And Evie can’t afford to risk being sent back through.
♢ Ashildr/Me: Mayor Me. The first person who greeted her when she passed through the rift, and the one who helped her get acclimated to the area. When they first arrived, Mayor Me gave them shelter on Trap street. And when Evie insisted on building a life in London (being human passing, apart from the gloves they’re forced to wear has its perks!), Me helped her find a flat and set her up with a job. All she asks is that Evie be her eyes in the hospital, and report any new arrivals to her so that she can over them the same protection Evie was given
Thank you OSWIN for auditioning for our first alien OC EVIE SMITH, we love how in-depth and thorough you’ve made her and her daughter. We find the idea that she’s a Floraxian to be interesting and fun! We have decided to go with Elizabeth Henstridge and we are pleased to say that you have been accepted!
Please create and send in an account within 24 hours, thank you!
We will also have your character card updated shortly.

Character desired: Evie Smith, 32; daughter: Millie Smith, 11(i realise there are a lot of smiths, i just went generic because she’s an alien so it felt right, but i’m also cool with changing it!)

ORIGINAL CHARACTER INFORMATION
Face claim: 1st choice Elizabeth Henstridge, 2nd choice Chloe Bennet maybe?
Pronouns and Gender: female, she/her, mutant humanoid from the future.
Additional biography:
- she comes from a planet that is unpronounceable by most humans, in a future most of earth’s population hasn’t even considered. a planet with no sun (it’s basically always day and everything appears to be the colour blue, this tooks some getting used to when she was first on earth), that has the most beautiful mountain range in the galaxy, and one that has been in a civil war for as long as history has been recorded by the people who live on it. two races – one with all the power and one existing only to serve, and then her kind. the mutants. half breeds. the lowest class citizens. and so naturally the leads of the rebellion.
- evie was born into a family whose outward appearance was floraxian – and so long as they always wore a pair of gloves, they were able to fit in and and reap the benefits all floraxian’s were awarded simply for being born. which was great, in theory, apart from living in fear of being caught. living as a floraxian meant more opportunities, better food, access to a better education (which is how evie was able to be trained as a physician… she’d be thankful later for such thorough training when she found herself working in a primitive earth hospital in the 21st century.)
- however evie never quite felt… right. it seemed wrong, din’t it? that she reap the rewards of a society that runs on the oppression of her own people. so in her 20′s she joined the rebellion, using her status as doctor to help. but her idealism perhaps made her a bit naive. and so she got caught in over her head – pregnant and in way too deep in the blorgon mafia. a fact that became particularly evident when her then boyfriend (and father of her child), a fellow mutant higher up in the rebellion one night drunkenly admitted that perhaps the intention of the group was not as noble as she once believed.
- with no way out, and a young child to protect she did what she had to do, and found a way out after a chance encounter with a time rift. she had no clue what would be on the side, but it seemed a brighter possibility than what the mess the were up against.
- earth provided a lot of challenges and even more new opportunities. like the opportunity to start over fresh – new identities and all. and so long as she always kept on a pair of gloves, her cover wouldn’t be blown. which was nice, wasn’t? safety at last. she does miss her family, but she knows they are safer without her around. and anyway, she’s got millie and that’s all the family she needs.
- though there is a part of her that worries her ex will find a way through the rift and come to take them back, she can’t bear the thought of it being closed permanently (monitored, certainly, but kept open). she knows she not the only being in the galaxy that’s ever needed a fresh start. and with mayor me and the trap street there’s no reason refugees from across the galaxy shouldn’t be able to find the same safe haven in london as she has. within reason, of course.
- all of that being said she does know how to protect herself. she may look very sweet and innocent on the outside (and she is both of those things, for the most part), but since coming to earth and escaping the rebellion/her ex she’s decided she never wants to feel helpless again, and so has taken some self defense classes and even knows how to carry a gun. (she does keep one in the flat in a lock box just to be safe, but it’s not loaded.)
- in her spare time she works on creating a gene suppressant. mainly for millie’s sake, something she can take (like a vitamin or a shot) to keep her powers under control and maybe offer her a real chance at a normal life. but so far she’s come up completely empty.
PARAGRAPH SAMPLE
She had a system. Finely honed over years of overachieving. She lined her open books across the table – by subject and in order of importance – she’d study one subject until she either got bored or distracted at which point she’d move on to the next. The genius part, of course, being that it prevented her from wasting time closing her books and finding her place in the new one. Efficiency is the key to good grades. As proven by her many years of excellence. Who said you couldn’t be brilliant and a Hufflepuff?
That is to say, she generally had an effective system. But that day something seemed to be going awry…
She’d just moved from Defense Against the Dark Arts and onto Potions when she realised it. Her pages were askew. She’d been meant to read Chapters four and five, but she was on seven.
“No,” Jemma asserted to herself, flipping anxiously through her very detailed planner, “No, that can’t be right I checked.” Triple checked in fact and yet….
Her eyes glanced from her to the Potions book again, now midway through the second chapter.
“Oh!” Jemma gasped in surprise, leaning forward to inspect her books. “Now that’s new. How you doing that then?” She whispered into the pages of her book, eyeing them curiously.
IN-CHARACTER QUESTIONS
1. What are your character’s last three texts sent? And to whom?
[ SMS MILLIE ] Late shift at the hospital. Dinner’s in the freezer. No chocolate until after you’ve finished your homework.

1. an instagram shot of an exhausted looking millie wearing a smile and scrubs. captioned: ‘Need tea in an IV bag STAT! #knackered’
2. a new pinterest board filled with perfectly organized wardrobes (by colour, clothing articles, length etc) entitled ‘organisation goals’
3. joined the facebook group working mums of hackney area.
What are the very first three things your character does when they get up in the morning?

♦ Liam thinks there’s something fishy going on at Coal Hill Academy, and they’re pretty sure it’s to do with budget cuts. How else can you explain an increase in hires that seem more interested in the goings on at the school than the actual teaching they’re meant to be doing? Yes, there’s something fishy indeed, and as a teacher, in the top of their field, they plan to get to the bottom of it!
♦ Liam Campbell was born and raised in Scotland. He’s the youngest of three children and has had a passion for sciences from a very young age. He has one older sister and one older brother. They all have different interests, so Liam never really got to be very close to them. Being the baby of the family, he’s a big momma’s boy and was rather spoiled by his mum growing up, which his older brother claims is the reasoning behind him being so socially awkward around people his own age. Despite not being very close to his brother, however, and growing up being teased by him for being spoiled by their mum, his older brother got into a few fights at school when he was sticking up for Liam. Neither of them talks about it, though, and when their mum would ask what happened, they’d both stick together about some lie they made up. It was some of the few times their mum actually saw them sticking together.
♦ He moved to England for Uni and wanted to get a degree to do big important things, but throughout his time there, he discovered he had a passion for teaching when he took up a job tutoring young kids in the local community. Teaching isn’t exactly the ‘big important things’ he had in mind, but he realised how important it really is, so maybe he’s still doing what he dreamed. During his last year of Uni, he became a teacher’s aide at Coal Hill. He’d heard that Coal Hill was a prestigious school and was honoured to work there. The same year he graduated from Uni, he landed a job there.
♦ The first few years there, it was a great job. He was able to stick to himself as much as he wanted and the school was almost everything that he imagined it to be. It was his fourth year there that things started getting weird. There’s a lot of rumours flying around trying to explain the weird stuff at Coal Hill, but Liam is pretty sure it’s all down to budget cuts. He may blame it all on budget cuts, but deep down he knows things are happening around the school and it sort of terrifies him. He loves Sci-Fi. He’s not so sure he wants to actually live it.
personality:
Liam was always a bit of a nerd, (or geek depending on who you ask). He loves Sci-Fi, Star Wars and Star Trek being a couple of his favourite things to watch. He has a Scottish temper, and can sometimes get pretty grouchy over the littlest things. He’s always been a socially awkward person, but since being at Coal Hill, he’s started to grow out of that, and more into himself. Socialising still isn’t his favourite thing to do, but he’s definitely a lot better at it than he was while he was a student. He has a tendency to get pretty dramatic about things, especially when he’s overcompensating for something. For example, blaming everything on budget cuts at the school, or freaking out because someone started bleeding during one of the class experiments.
♢ evie smith: The two met through Evie’s child, and was admittedly quite taken by her, though he had to roll his eyes over the fact that her last name was Smith of all things. To tell her apart from the rest of the Smith’s he knows, he has her in his phone as ‘Pretty Smith’, though he’d deny it if she ever saw the name in his phone.
♢ john smith (metacrisis): The two have neighbouring classrooms, so the two bump into each other often. More than Liam likes on most days. Not that he doesn’t like the Maths teacher. He does seem brilliant, and passionate – he’s just not sure if he’s always passionate about teaching.
♢ donna noble: Liam finds Donna Noble to be one of the most normal adults at Coal Hill, and enjoys stopping in the office to chat with her from time to time – Usually to gossip about the strange things happening around the school.

PARAGRAPH SAMPLE
“Okay, don’t forget your homework and remember to read the next chapter in your textbook. There will be a quiz over the content of it.” Liam announced, just as the bell rang for the next class – the sound of their grumbling not going beyond his notice. He finished wiping the board clean for his next class and nearly dropped the eraser when he heard a loud bang just outside his class room window.
“Oh, bloody Hell,” He grumbled, setting the eraser down and moving to open the window so he could look out into the courtyard. Nothing.
“Hello?” He called out, looking back and forth for the source of the noise before deciding that it might have been something in the air vents popping. He wouldn’t have been surprised with all of the bloody budget cuts the school seemed to be making. He needed to remember to write a letter over his concerns… He was worried about his salary, but more importantly, he was starting to worry about the safety of the students.
IN-CHARACTER QUESTIONS
What are your character’s last three texts sent? And to whom?
[text to Mum] The job’s going fine, mum. Don’t you worry. The kids love me, even!
[text to Teaching Smith] Does your class have to be so loud? What are you evendoing over there? It’s /Maths/.
[text to Mum] Thank you for the Haggis Crisps by the way! Got them in the mail yesterday. The bag didn’t make it long enough to see today.
What would be your character’s last three social media posts?
@mrcampbellch Twitter feels like the social media of Coal Hill. Even the Social Media has budget cuts.
@mrcampbellch I’m not afraid to admit that the movie Sing looks really good. If only I had time to see it.
@mrcambellch I thought this was supposed to make me feel more connected to the students. I’m not even that old, and I feel so out of touch. What is fleek?
What are the very first three things your character does when they get up in the morning?
Liam hits the snooze button a lot too, waiting to get up until the last possible second. Sometimes he shaves, sometimes he goes without depending on the day. Brushes his teeth and puts on the outfit he’d decided on the night before. Food is kind of important to him, so does make sure he wakes up in time to have a hearty breakfast, of usually pancakes or egg sandwiches. If he doesn’t wake up in time, he’ll pick up something from a fast food place or deli on the way to work.
Does this rp stem off another rp group? Because it seems like a lot of the companions know each other already & keep mentioning from the 'pocket universe' sort of thing? is this group closed to only people who were in that verse thing?
Hello!
This rp does have some characters from another rp that have been brought over, yes (which solely is just Jack and the Metacrisis, all others are not from the pocket universe rp).
However that does not mean the roleplay is exclusive or closed to those that have not been in the other rp. We are looking for fun and friendly folks to join us here at Class rp, and would love to see and welcome newcomers!

ABOUT:
♦ with the exception of a few poor fashion decisions and a rebllious streak through her late teens, losing her mum at such a young age has only made her kinder. she knows the value of a person and the place they take in your life. and while she’s not the sort to wear her heart on her sleeve or let just anybody into her inner circle, she cares a great deal about he people around her, and she’ll never leave a friend in need behind.
♦ which is how she found herself nannnying for the maitlands through her early twenties after graduating from uni. their mum had just passed away, Mr. Maitland had needed someone to pick up the slab, and being as Mrs. Maitland had been such a good friend to her own mother, it really hadn’t taken much though for her to put her travel plans on hold to help out – she felt she knew what they were going through. the job didn’t pay much, but with food and lodging taken care of, she was able to save up a bit.
♦ so when Mr. Maitland finally did hire a permanant nanny (only two years after her temporarily taking on the position), she’d saved up enough to rent herself a nice flat in the city, just a few stops on the underground from her new place of employment – Coal Hill Academy. She’d taken the position to fill up her time between travels with The Doctor, and to remind herself to keep her life balanced. It was always much harder to remind herself not to fall in love when she was caught up in the Doctor’s world – she figured she liked kids enough and she’d taken the teaching courses, so why not? It seemed permanent enough to cement a life outside the Doctor (especially after his regeneration), whilst still providing enough freedom for travel and adventure. And besides, with a degree in English Literature, there really wasn’t much else to do, was there?
♦ has a bit of a troubled relationship with her dad now that he’s remarried. she knows intellectually (and as an adult with a good head on her shoulders) that her dad deserves to be happy, and if Linda gives him that happiness, who is she to deny him that? But emotionally she still can’t quite wrap her head around him finding that happiness with anyone who isn’t her mum.
♦ has in the past (or maybe it’s the future, or present? she can never really be sure) been romantically linked to Jane Austen. the details of this relationship only exists inside a journal which she’s hidden away from the doctor (and those nosy eyebrows of his) – though whether’s he’s found it and disapproves, she’s not sure. either way, he continues to bring her back to visit, so she’s really not too concerned. if only they could meet up in the right order…
♢ the doctor: Her best friend in the entire universe and favourite hobby, The Doctor has become one of the most important people in Clara’s life. Not that she’d ever admit it. Or think it too loud when he’s around, just to be safe. The adventures, the laughs, the stupid bits of trouble he’s always getting them into – it’s amazing. But it’s more than that, isn’t it? She’s seen him all (good, bad and in between fashion), been through his timestream (even if she can’t really remember it)… and she loves him anyway. Or well… it’s complicated. But so long as she’s in control of their relationship, she thinks they’ll continue travelling together for a long time.
♢ petronella osgood: They met through UNIT…. at least, she thinks they did. Hard to say, really, now that there’s two Osgoods bopping around London. Being one of the few people in the entire universe who knows her secret (or well, part of it, but she doesn’t expect Osgood is going to give up which of her is human or Zygon anytime soon), it only seemed natural the two spark a friendship. And when Osgood started working at Coal Hill the two only go closer – meeting up for coffees here and there, a good gossip, and maybe a chat about what exactly is going on with the rift, and why it’s suddenly appeared at the school.
♢ jenny flint: Clara’s always like Jenny, from the moment the first met, and truth be told every interaction they’ve had since that first meeting has only proven her initial gut instinct to be right. Kind, warm, sweet as can be – Clara is just naturally drawn to Jenny. Plus they’ve got something huge in common – their own ‘Sherlock Holmes’ to keep in line. Even if Clara’s still pretty sure whatever’s brought them to modern day London has probably got some kind of sinister plan in the works, she still pops buy the Tea Emporium at least once a week to catch up. And anyway, if something does go wrong at least she knows she’s in good hands – Jenny and Vastra always make sure to call the police when alien baddies get in the way.
