Lately I'll start a little music history commentary when I'm with my grandma like the following:
"Did you know there's a tea place where the Led Zeppelin Physical Graffiti photo was taken? It's called Physical GraffiTEA!!"
"It's funny Hendrix would say that about Clapton cause Clapton would've said the same thing about Hendrix years later! They spent time in London together! Haha!"
"Yeah George Harrison wrote this about Beatlemania. Ringo was in the video for it."
My grandma was THERE. ALIVE. WITNESSING ALL THAT.
Like, on one hand, HOW COOOOOL! On the other hand, I always realise too late I'm basically mansplaining the VERY little I know about classic rock to the person who learned House Of The Rising Sun on guitar not too long after it came out.
When my sibling just a few years younger puts up with my haphazard lectures, I gotta give a backdrop. Patty Boyd was so and so. The Yardbirds and Jimmy Page did yada yada. Joplin at Woodstock blah blah. I don't have to do that with my grandma.
And it trips me up when she justs lets me go off. Even though she knows. She's kinda quiet like me. But she already knows all this. She knows more than I'll ever know man.
(Her favorite was Fleetwood Mac according to my papa. So that's why that gif's there lol. Thanks for reading :) I'm always down to chat about anything.)
