Spring Class Schedule

Sorry that I haven’t posted in a while, I have just recovered from the trials that are midterms. 

Course registration is happening this Thursday for sophomores (at 7:30 AM!) so I thought I would post what I’m hoping my schedule will be next semester:

I’m really interested in the Art of Translation class in particular, if all goes well I will be declaring a translation concentration sometime this year. As I am a sophomore and I have declared my majors and plan to go abroad to Paris all of next year, I really have to get as many major requirements done as possible, so I can’t take as many elective classes as I have in previous semesters. However, I decided a little bit of archery every week would be good for my mental health :)

Class Schedule Fall 2018

This semester I am taking 19 credits:

-CSC102: How the Internet Works

-CSC212: Data Structures

-FRN252: French Cinema

-KOR101: Intro to Korean

-SWG222: Gender, Law, and Policy

My classes are a lot of work but I’m liking them so far! I fully took advantage of the Add/Drop Period and now I feel like I have a schedule of classes that I’m both interested in and that move towards my goals.

Spring 2017 Class Schedule

So I finally got my schedule settled so I thought I would share my workload for this semester. 

My original schedule (the first one below) included 3 computer science related classes, a French class, and a ballet class. However, I felt unprepared and overly stressed about one of my computer science courses and so I dropped that class, using Smith’s amazing Add/Drop period. In its place, I decided to take Introductory Macroeconomics, as it is something I really enjoyed in high school. However, in my search for new classes to take, I found out that there was a class on constitutional law and as soon as I saw it I knew I had to take it. 

And so, my new schedule includes 2 computer science classes (one intro and one cross-listed math course), a French class, a ballet class, a macroeconomics class, and a constitutional law class. In total, this gives me 23 credits. This may seem like a lot, and it kind of is, but with the right time management skills and determination, it is quite doable.
