Drawcember Day 13 - Clattering
Went with the clattering of chains ... had a lot of different ideas but they ultimately came down to this.
Meet the #jackdaw! Our smallest #corvid. These little guys love roofs, castles and chimneys. They go about in flocks called a #clattering. I always think of #maryqueenofscots when I see or hear them. They make a very loud #chack call. Imprisoned for twenty years, Mary would have heard their calls constantly in various #castles. Every evening around 4pm we're treated to this amazing sight (and sound!) at Beecraigs Country Park. Many hundreds of jackdaws perch in the trees on the farm before flocking for 15 minutes or so over the loch. The noise is unreal. And apparently the collective noun for jackdaws is a 'clattering' :)
There seems to be jackdaws everywhere lately, and lots of them. Am I late for anything? I love them, though, just don't know why there are so many. I do know, though, that a group of them is called a clattering. Does it have more/other names where any of you come from? #birds #birbs #corvid #corvids #jackdaws #jackdaw #clattering #birdspotting #myyard #naturephotography #nature #grass #freshlymowedgrass

TECH UPDATE: Cold Seizures Engine pre-heating helps prevent cold seizures (and pistons from “clattering about”).
Formula 1 engines and the first 800cc Suzukipneumatic-valve MotoGP engines have had to be externally heated before they can be started. A mechanic wheels up a heater whose hoses connect to the cooling system of the engine to be heated. A pump in the heater circulates electrically heated engine coolant through the engine in the car or bike. Once suitable instrumentation reveals that the…
