In my imagination, Clea Dessendre sometimes wanders the shores of Lumiere port-shattering. Lune stands on a cold, rocky shore staring out at sea, trying to imagine where her parents met their end. The sea surges and from the foaming mist Clea emerges, clothes bone-dry despite walking out from the depths of the ocean. White nevrons trail behind her and Lune stands mere meters away, paralyzed with fear and fascination. She watches Clea stoop and pick up a conch shell. She turns it over, smiles, and then feeds it to a small, white burgeon trailing close behind her.
