Some lady said to my face the other day that she disliked Korra because she was too whiny and bratty and I swear to god I was so close to unleashing a feral scream and chucking her vape pen across the room.

Like. What the fuck does that even mean? What did you want from her character? Who could she have ever been to you if not some unachievable standard?

I love Korra as a character so goddamn much and I’m honestly excited to see her role in Seven Havens because I don’t think for a second she’s gonna be portrayed as some irredeemable villain. That’s just not the MO of the franchise. We’ll get a beautiful and tragic look into how the weight of this mantle tears down the people who shoulder it. And I loved watching Korra have to be just some teenager that was thrust into the middle of terrifyingly complex global politics where there was no clear path forward for her.

The Legend of Korra is about coming into yourself when the rest of the world wants to define you and use you to its own end. It was such a beautiful moment in media history and I’ll never forget the way that Korra changed my world.
