Hi! Well first of all I want to say that I really enjoy reading your blog, especially since I had quite some paranormal things happen around me since I was little and your blog helps me deal with them and relate. Secondly I'd like to know what kind of experience you have with lucid dreaming. I've been interested in it since two years now and I had them a lot, but now I'm doubting to trigger a lucid dream with the sleep paralysis method. Did you ever try it, if yes, what are your ideas about it?
I’ve had lucid dreams before, though I’ve never purposely induced them. A couple of times they just happened naturally, and a couple of times I worked it out thanks to a few techniques I learned regarding how to tell if you’re in a dream or not. I’d say that’s probably your best bet if you don’t want to risk sleep paralysis – you can learn how to tell if you’re in a dream or not, and by working on it while you’re awake, you can perform the checks naturally in a dream and hopefully if you come up with one of your tells, you’ll become conscious you’re dreaming and be able to control it. For example, one of my tells is that I’m a shit driver in my dreams. If I’m dreaming and I’m driving badly, I’ll automatically think “this is a dream” and while most of the time that thought wakes me up, sometimes it means the dream turns lucid.
Lucid dreams are so fucking cool, though. The clearest memory of one that I have was a natural one, and in the dream I was walking outside my house and I just suddenly stopped and thought “I’m in a dream, I can do whatever I want”. Then I just concentrated really hard and was able to fly around, and I just did that for the rest of the dream. I woke up exhausted but it was totally worth it.
