Clear the Path

When I woke up today, I figured it was going to be like any other day. Brush my teeth, tie my shoes, get to work. I mean, it’s been this way for a while now. Why would I expect something different? Except it was different - the most subtle way imaginable.

I deleted her.

Now it sounds simple and even I have a hard time to trying to describe it. We haven’t spoken in ages, yet somehow she still can creep into my mind to remind me of my failures and keep the thoughts of what could be. That’s not possible anymore. Something clicked in my head and so did my finger. With a simple button, she was gone.

The road is still filled with debris ahead and I’m not looking forward to walking it. Yet with such a subtle task, I feel like a chain has been broken from me. Except the chains weren’t locked. I was holding on to them for comfort. I can’t believe it’s taken me so long to do it. Now it’s time to work on letting go the rest go.

Now the task ahead is to not get drunk and reach back out to her.

I have been going threw my very own "great depression" for the past year and a half, almost two years. And ive been feeling better as the summer continues and i feel really good about where i am. Im not afraid to go back to school and i want to feel good about my body too! And it just feels great. I dont need to cut or starve myself or lock myself away from the world because im getting better and i can feel it !!
