Surgical Correction of Unilateral Cleft Lip Deformity This little girl had been born with a unilateral cleft lip and palate deformity. Her parents had been counseled at the time of her birth and referred to our hospital. She underwent cleft lip surgery when she was five months old. The nasal sill was addressed using a C-flap. It was then decided to do a three layer closure of his cleft lip deformity. The orbicularis oris, subcutaneous tissues and skin were reapproximated with extreme precision with the use of a surgical loupe. There was perfect recreation of lip anatomy. Rhinoplasty, Nasal Bridge Augmentation This young boy was born with a bilateral cleft lip and palate deformity. He has already been operated 3-4 times elsewhere by inexperienced surgeons. This had resulted in complete closure of his right nostril and a collapsed columella. He presented to our hospital for correction of his deformities. A nasal speculum was used to open up his right nostril, which was then reconstructed using a nasolabial flap. An open rhinoplasty was performed to recreate his columella. His nasal bridge and columella were raised using a double costal graft, which had been harvested from the patient. This resulted in good esthetic recreation of his nasal structure. Cleft Lip and Palate Deformity This little boy was born with a left-sided cleft lip and palate deformity. He undergone cleft lip repair at the age of 6-1/2 months in our hospital. A C-flap was first raised to reconstruct the floor of the nose and the nasal sill. The vermillion border was then reconstructed. A three layer closure of the cleft deformity was performed with perfect approximation of the orbicularis oris, subcutaneous tissue and skin. This was performed under magnification of a surgical loupe. Parents were very happy with the cosmetic results of the surgery. Cleft Lip and Alveolus Deformity This baby girl was born with a left-sided cleft lip and alveolus deformity. Parents brought her to our hospital for corrective surgery. She underwent cleft lip repair at 3-1/2 months of age. She underwent reconstruction of the floor of the left nasal cavity with recreation of the nasal sill utilizing a C-flap.
