My version of bravebyers-
Someone made a post about Will the Wise's wedding band being made from the metal of Mike the Brave's armour and Mike's from the wood of Will's staff.
So what if when p!mike reveals that - normal Will wonders if he can siphon any powers from the wedding band. He needs to do this. He needs to make sure that the version of him who is loved by Mike, GETS TO HAVE HIM.
So he's studying more DnD lore to see if there is a way to do so when palladin!mike walks behind him and they start talking about his Mike. And poor Will has to talk about how "no, we're not like that" "no, there is no sacred oath"
And he notices how devastated Will is while saying this so Palladin!mike mentions how his noble cleric told him that he had visions of them being destined together in every universe
That mike the brave always loved will the wise in every reality.
And then will is just holding back tears and says "In every universe but one."
And then can't help but sob about how "He doesn't want me" "He's not like me" while p!mike comforts him.
When the cleridin reunion happens - Micheal runs towards William - lifts him up and SQUEEZES him and then they look at each other and kiss while cradling each other's faces.
And that's when the portal closes.
The entire party is shook to say the least and everyone dissipates into different places.
Will is just holding back tears and heads to the bathroom because he's going to be sick MEANWHILE Mike sees that and thinks, maybe risking it all is worth it if he gets to love Will like this. Maybe this was supposed to be his push all along.
Will is above the bowl, about to puke, absolutely CRUSHED upon seeing another version of him being loved, being held, being cradled by Mike. (Not his Mike, never his Mike). And the worst part, he thought he's gonna be happy about it. Every version gets to have this, he should be happy, right? (Every version but him)
Mike follows him to the bathroom and Will is puking and mike just pats his back or does the shoulder grab, just holds him and like asks him if the palladin said something to him. He tries to pry but Will just shuts down.
Both of them are sulking for a few days. Mike because he thinks p!mike said something because he's been like this since he saw them talking. (Or maybe Will hated the idea of them being together) .
Will because.. do I even have to explain this.
They're sleeping in the basement - Will on the sofa, Mike on a sleeping bag and Mike keeps replaying the kiss in his head. Maybe it was just not his to have.
But he still just wants him to fucking talk to him so he brings it up again and Will is about to shut down again with "I'm fine, Mike" when Mr Queeler grabs his wrist and gives him the sad dog eyes look "Please talk to me. What did he say to you that made you so upset?"
And Will doesn’t know what to say and tries to deflect and pick up a fight but oh god Mike is sat up on the sofa, he's tugging his wrist and looking at him like that so he just rips the bandaid off with "I don't know how to make myself content with being the only Will who never gets to be loved .. by you." And Mike is confused as hell because he doesn’t know so he just keeps looking at Will for answers and Will can't look at him in the eyes anymore and weakly drops "He told me that we're destined together in every universe but that's not true. Every universe but one."
And then Mike starts reassuring him and rambling on and on about how the cleridin reunion let him see what he was passing up on and for WHAT.
So anyway they kiss and stop being pining idiots-
