the lack of diaval reader inserts is absolutely astounding!!
Something that bugs me ...
This is a taboo in the intersectional feminist community, I get it. But this bothers me.
Telling people the body positive movement isn't for thin people. Why??????? Why on earth - listen, I get it, people who are thin aren't frowned upon by society like overweight people are; but BODY POSITiVITY IS ABOUT LOVING YOUR BODY, THERFOR IT SHOULD BE ACCESSIBLE FOR EVERYONE.
What about anorexic women? The body positive movement could literally save their lives. Shutting thin people out seems ... wrong.
People recovering from an ED NEED the body positive community to OPEN THEIR ARMS for them. It's only right.
And if you're gonna tell thin people that body positivity isn't for them, suggest a movent that IS for them. Like, idk, does "all body positivity" exist? And if so, point them towards that. Don't just shut them out and have them run off with their tail between their legs.
Feminists, we need to do better than this. We need to stop coming to snap judgements.
I suppose i am somewhat average in weight .. but I've been told to lose weight so much as a young girl that i turned to an eating disorder; now I'm at the point where i don't know what thin is anymore. I believe I'm fat fairly often, though a scale tells me otherwise. If the body positive social media users tell me to get lost - hasn't the movement failed???
they either thought this out REALLY well or not at all
