Imagine being the God of Desire, and using your powers to break Loki's mind control over Hawkeye.
“Hey, there you are,” You sighed with relief as the artificial color faded from Clint’s eyes, being replaced by the natural blue-green shade that you had gotten used to. He blinked a couple of times, trying to get his bearings and then looked up at you.
“Hey,” He said with a groan, rubbing the back of his neck. The spell that Loki had over him had dissipated, not quite as powerful as your own. His brain was probably feeling the backlash of being under someone’s control, and then the immense amounts of desire that he had felt for those two minutes as you overrode Loki’s, and then you snapped him out of all of it, as tempting as it would be to keep him under your thumb. “Ahh - my head is pounding.”
“Aww, poor Clint,” You said, sliding your thumb across his smooth cheekbone. Clint’s eyes met yours for another couple of seconds and then he started to blush, making you smirk. “I can assure you, you’ll feel right as rain in another few minutes.” He nodded in your direction, and then looked back down to the ground that he was sitting on. “Don’t you want to get up? Isn’t it time to get your revenge? Come on, Clint, you can do it. The celebration afterwards will be well-worth it.”
“Y/N,” He said, and you could hear that little ask for help within his voice, though he was much too stoic to ever truly ask for it. You gave him your hand and helped him up onto his feet, of course checking out his ass as he did a few stretches to become limber again.
“Oh, good stretch,” You purred, as if you were watching a cat with affection. Well, your face already looked like that of a cat that got the cream, so to speak. You approached him and ran your hand over his shoulder blades, making his muscles tense, making his spine shiver. He let out a small cough and then bent down to pick up the bow - giving you another delicious few for a half moment.
He took an arrow out of his quiver and prepared it in his bow. Clint’s arm muscles tensed again and you could see it this time, beneath his skin, all beautiful and veiny, bulging, making you bite at your lip. “Let’s go,” He said, starting to walk, step by step.
“Babe, I’d follow you anywhere,” You said, walking in line behind him.

Two weeks. The mission was supposed to last a couple of days; a week tops had lasted fourteen long exhausting days. Banged up, exhausted and in dire need of your bed. You dragged your feet off the plane and into the Avengers Tower.
You had never been more relieved to be home. No one could have prepared for Hydra to be one step ahead. The intel had been solid initially but as with anything all hell broke loose.
Fumbling with the lock on your door, you sighed. You couldn't see to locate the lock. As your fingers struggled with the keys, the door opened, revealing someone you were dying to see.
"Sweetheart, your back?" Clint wrapped his arms around you tightly, clinging you to him. Familiarity, as you were surrounded by Clint's woodsy scent and warm body. Your muscles relax instinctively. You were home; everything had aligned itself into order once more.
"What are you doing here? I thought you'd be at home." Clint picked up your bag, as he stepped back leading you into the apartment.
"Tony informed everyone you were on the way home. I had to come to meet you. Let me draw you a bath." You followed Clint into the bathroom. Finding a seat on the toilet seat. You lived for moments like this after a mission; normalcy. Neither of you uttered a word as the running water echoed off of the tiled walls.
"Here honey, let me help you get your suit off" Your muscles screamed in protest as you rose. Clint worked with a practiced ease. This was not the first time and it wouldn't be the last. Since you'd joined the team it had become a ritual of sorts.
As Clint pulled away your suit, the extent of your encounter with Hydra was apparent. Your body is scattered with bruises and grazes. Clint examined your body, but Clint never said anything. Neither of you did. Whenever either of you returned home from a mission, it became a part of reconnecting and repairing.
"join me?" You asked, Clint didn't need to be asked twice. He hated seeing you both physically and mentally exhausted. he'd also missed you. Home wasn't home when either one of you wasn't there.
Clint settled into the bath first, spreading his legs so you could sit in between them.
The moment your body touched the water, your aching muscles began to relax into the water's enticing hug.. Leaning back onto Clint's chest, you sighed as his arms tightened around you.
"I finally finished the kitchen. Everything's back in place. You can bake Nat the cookies she's been bugging me about"
"I'll get on those when we get home. She's had to wait longer than expected. Have you decided on another project?" Clint pressed a kiss into the curve of your neck.
"Yeah. I've decided we need to change the bath so this can be a regular thing outside of the Tower. But first what do you say we get away from a couple of days."
"Yeah I'd love that"
Summary: Being Clint’s daughter, and having been trained by him and Natasha. The Avengers need help from another smaller agent.
Authors Note: A shorter reader for reasons of needing her help. First time I believe I’m writing for a shorter reader. Fun Fact Scarlett Johansen is 5’3 and I’m the same height.
“Yeah, but who can do that.” Tony asked out loud. They had a urgent mission but there were parts that none of them could do.
“None of us can. Not even Nat.” Steve let out a sigh. Tony was right, as annoying as that was.
Nat looked to Clint with knowing eyes. “We could call her in.”
Clint let out a frustrated sigh. “Nat”
Everyone was getting confused now as they watched the two spys. “She’s been dying to help and she just got backfrom her mission over seas.” Natasha added, knowing she was right that girl always talked to her. Told her everything.
“You advocate for my daughter more than you do for anyone else.” Clint glared at the redhead but there was no malice in it.
Nat shrugged. “I like her more than anyone else.”
“Who are you both talking about?” Bruce asked the question that was on everyones mind.
“Clint’s oldest daughter.” Natasha stated looking towards the others.
“y/n.” Clint told them her name. It’s not that he didn’t want Y/n on the team. Hell she was already an agent, it’s just he would be so focused on making sure she’s okay. That could endanger the others or at the very least himself. And he didn’t want her to get hurt. Or at least have to see it happen.
“You have another kid? You Bartons are very busy.” Tony said under his breath. They do have a lot of kids.
“She’s an agent?” Wanda asked with her head tilted.
“Yes, trained by me and Nat ourselves.” Clint nodded explaining a bit more about her to his friends that he considered family.
“Could she help?” Steve asked crossing his arms.
“Your call, you know how I’d vote.” Natasha stated as Clint looked to her for her input.
Clint nodded letting out a sigh. He just didn’t want her to get hurt, him being there and he couldn’t do nothing about it. But Nat was right. They needed her. “Fine. I’ll call her.”
^ ^ ^
“Where is she? We’re about to leave.” Tony questioned as they stood in the quinjet, waiting for this young Barton Agent to get there.
“She’ll be here.” Natasha stated glaring at Tony. She’s very protective also of Y/n.
“Paticnce, Tony.” Steve said trying to defuse the conversation before anything could happen or be said.
“There she is.” Natasha nodded towards where a girl probably in her early 20’s was coming from a black SHIELD SUV dropped her off.
“Thats Bartons daughter?” Bruce asked with squinted eyes. She was older than mot of them expected, most of his kids were a good portion younger.
“Her names Y/n or as she’s called in the field hummingbird.” Nat stated, they really couldn’t call her by her name? That was ridiculous. Y/n is more than just Clint’s kid. She’s her own person.
“Why hummingbird?” Wanda asked curiously, while everyone else just thought ‘another Barton with a bird code name’.
“She hums to distract her targets and she can move fast so they look one way but she comes around from the other.” Natasha explained kindly to Wanda as she was the only one in Nat’s eyes not being rude about her niece.
“The bird family.” Tony snarked which earned him a glare from not only Nat.
“Well, she did inherit Clint’s sense of sight.” Bucky spoke up which caused all eye’s to turn to him. Which made him uncomfortable, Bucky shrugged his shoulders before continuing. “What? It’s in her file. And I’ve ran into her before. Back when I was the Winter Solider.”
“Everyone.” Clint said as him and Y/n walked up the ramp of the quinjet. Clint had been waiting axniously for her to arrive. “This is Y/n. My daughter. Y/n everyone.”
“Hey everyone.” Y/n said smiling giving a small wave to all the Avengers. Then her focus turned to the two people infront of her she already knew. “And hi, Nat. Bucky.”
“You know Bucky?” Clint turned his attention to his daughter so fast it scared her abit.
Y/n shifted on her feet biting her lip not knowing what to say to her father about this. ‘Hey dad Fury sent me on a mission when I was only 17 and I ran into the Winter Solider’. No, that wouldn’t work. “Uhhhh, top secret mission.”
“Y/n-” Clint went to start interagetting her but Y/n cut himoff.
“Ask Fury. Okay?” she raised her hands in surrender.
Before Clint could question her anymore Tony spoke up wanting to get the mission started as soon as possible. “Alright. Let’s see what you can do. Let’s go.”
“Got a suit?” Steve sked with kind eyes.
“Yup.” Y/n gave him a nod.
“Then Suit up.” Steve nodded backwith a smile.
“This is gonna be fun.” Y/n sat next to Nat with a huge smile on her face. She was excited to finally get to work with her dad and Aunt Natasha. They trained her after all.
“Just don’t do anything to scare your dad. Got it? Or me.” Natasha smiled she to was excited but she was also nervous for the same reasons as Clint.
“I got it. Besides I want to be able to help you guys again.” Y/n nodded trying to get her to not worry as much. There was no way Y/n was gonna be reckless. She wanted to work with them all again someday.
Well this was another request kept in the works and depending if I’m too late or not for my lovely bilingual anon you might already have started your nursing school (which congrats btw hopefully everything worked out) so this little drabble of sorts is dedicated to them and to anyone else that’s starting college (or a new grade in general).
Not really any warnings maybe a swear word or two and some fluff/maybe angst. But mainly I just did some basic research on how medical school/nursing programs work so if I’m wrong and there’s something I missed, any nursing/medical grads out there PLEASE let me know so that I can go back and fix it. I didn’t put too much detail just skimmed over the process but I hope it was the right way I did it.
Anyways enjoy my lovely readers and until next time.
You know the one thing they never tell you when you’re applying to college, how to maintain the stress levels of what’s to come with leaving childhood behind and fully becoming an adult.
While I am excited, don’t get me wrong, I’ve always wanted to be a nurse ever since I begged my mom for my first Baby Alive doll. Taking care of her, changing her diaper, feeding her, all that stuff. Then came the day when Cooper Barton was born. Yep that Cooper, along with Lila and Nathaniel. Since our moms have been friends since they were in college, it was only a matter of time before I became friends with the Barton kids, especially since I was considered the ‘other Big sister’.
That also meant I had known Clint Barton long before he was famous for being apart of the Avengers team. But ever since bringing everyone back from the Blip and the world trying to return to normal, he’s happily retired and staying with the family that he lost for 5 years (while also raising me since I had lost my parents in the Blip).
But back to what I was saying, applying for nursing school isn’t like applying for your regular old college. Not only do you need to go to regular college and get some credits as well as take the necessary tests, you have to volunteer as nursing homes, you have to go to an interview with the school, and the most tedious thing of all—waiting.
The waiting portion is what really had me on edge, especially since the school was trying to re-instate students and staff that had been Blipped, look at new applications, it was a mess but I’ll spare the long waiting story and just say that after awhile of not hearing anything, I finally heard back from them and found out that I had been accepted into the Nursing school of my dreams.
Like I said, while I am excited I’m also quite nervous about it as well. Cause not only is it the most prestige nursing school in the country, it’s also out of state in Durham, North Carolina. And moving to a whole new state is a scary thing in itself, nobody will know me there and I’ll know no one there, I’ll be alone in school as I’m working towards my nursing degree.
I was sitting on top of the treehouse that uncle Clint had built for me and Lila when we were little. It was at the peak of sunset and everyone was inside the house still celebrating my acceptance into college. Mom and dad spent all morning setting up for the Barton’s to come over for the party and since 2pm the two families have been barbequing, watching a football game, and just chatting away.
But right now I needed a break from the family so I just came out here to the old tree house (that I hadn’t really been in since I started high school) and a wave of nostalgia came over me. Seeing the old polaroid pictures I took with my camera of me and Lila, our old drawings we did together, and the famous sign we’d tape to the door.
GIRLS ONLY, NO BOYS ALLOWED
I smile softly and stroked the rainbow letters we both wrote it in as the memories of what Lila and I had in here played in my head.
“Thought you might be up here.” Uncle Clint’s voice spoke up. I jumped and turned to see him holding up the door-floor (that’s what Lila and I used to call it) up. “God I remember all the times your dad and I caught you and Lila up here. This was practically your first apartment. Minus the pluming and AC unit.” I softly chuckled.
“Been a long time since I saw this place. Wanted to check and see if anything changed with it.”
“Probably not. Once you girls grew up, you didn’t really come up here as much when you were kids. But I still kept up with any repairs that needed to be done, just in case you changed your mind.”
“And I thank you for that. I really needed to come back in here.” I said stroking through some of the old pictures.
“Everything okay?”
“Can I be honest with you uncle Clint?”
“Yeah, yeah absolutely. But first I must ask permission from Princess Mi amore Cadenza of the Crystal Empire to enter hers and Princess Francesca Banana Lobella Lollipop’s castle in the sky.” I chuckled at the silly Princess names Lila and I came up with when we were little.
“I can’t believe you still remember those names.”
“I’m losing my hearing, not my memory.” Clint teased.
“But yes you have permission from Princess Cadence.” I said shortening the nickname of my pretend Princess title. Uncle Clint climbed up the rest of the way into the tree house and closed the door behind him before taking a seat on one of the old beanbag chairs we had. “Alright kid, talk. What’s on your mind?”
“First I just wanna say that I’m not complaining about the party. It’s awesome it really is that you and aunt Laura and my parents did this for me. And I am happy to know that I’m gonna be living out my dream of becoming the first Doctor in the family but—it all feels to fast. I mean it feels like yesterday Lila and I were up here talking about her next heist to get the cookies from the top of the fridge, and now all of a sudden it…….”
“Feels like childhood is slipping away.” He finished for me. “Like you’re entering a bigger world than you first thought it would entail.”
“How did you—”
“Because I was there myself. Once I joined SHIELD and before the Avengers became a thing.”
“Bull.”
“It’s true. The biggest thing before I knew Gods and aliens existed were terrorists and spies. Basic espionage stuff that you see in the movies. When Loki came along the job became—a lot more than what I was used to. So much so that there were times I thought I wasn’t really needed. I’m just a guy with a bow and arrow, that’s all I had to bring to every fight we went to.”
“But you looked pretty cool everytime you did it.” Uncle Clint ruffled my hair.
“Thanks shrimp. Now I know that these are two totally different scenarios but there is some common ground to both our fears. I was needed to be the ‘human aspect’ that the Avengers needed. Someone to help keep them grounded whenever things got too tough on the job. While you, you’ve always had a healing hand.” He took my hand between his and gave it a gentle squeeze in reassurance. “And the world’s gonna be lucky to have someone who is doing it for the good of the patient, and not for the money. Or the medal of neurosurgeon, whatever the hell it is they call for giving Doctors rewards.”
“And again I am psyched but also a bit scared. Especially since I’ll be in a new state where I don’t know a single person there.”
“What about that friend of yours you made in college uhh—what was her name Robin? What about her?”
“She’s going to the University of Pennsylvania to be closer with her grandparents who need her.” He nodded solemnly.
“Well I still wouldn’t worry. You’ve always been pretty good at making friends. And you know we’re all just a phone call or facetime away if you ever get homesick.”
“Yeah I know.” I mumbled.
“Hey,” he scooted closer to me and wrapped an arm around me pulling me closer to him. “You’re ready for this. I have absolutely no doubt in my mind that you’re gonna be the best Doctor that’s ever gonna live. Even better than Doctor Strange.” We both softly laughed. “You’ve worked too hard to toss the scrubs now, my goddaughter is not a quitter. And she never says no.”
“Thanks Uncle Clint. And I don’t just mean for the talk but for everything. Even during the Blip.”
“I was hardly there for you during that time I—I was in a really dark place and you needed me but I…..”
“You still came whenever you could. It’s not like I needed you to help me get into college or to baby me, I was already in the midst of my first semester when it happened. The first thing you did was call me when the world went to shit. And when it came time for the summers or holidays, you still took the time to at least give me a proper welcome home before your Ronan business.” I leaned my head against his shoulder nuzzling into it. “I don’t think I could’ve gone through my remaining years of college without you uncle Clint. You may have not always been there physically, but there was the emotional support whenever I needed you.”
“I’ll always be there for you kid. No matter how old you get.” He leaned his forehead against mine before he choked out. “And—I know Nat……she—she would’ve also been proud of you too.”
“I miss her.”
“Me too kid, me too.” His arms wrapped around me as I did the same for him and we embraced each other as tight as we could.
After staying up in the treehouse for a few more minutes, the two of us decided to head back inside for the rest of the evening where our two families spent the rest of the night talking until the Barton’s decided to call it a night and head home.
As they left, uncle Clint’s words rang in my head and the weight that was on my heart early was now lifted as I had a more positive outlook than the nagging negative from earlier.
“You were outside for quite a long time earlier sweetheart, you okay?” my mom asked.
“I’m fine mom. Just needed to clear my head. Uncle Clint also provided some good advice.”
“Well that’s good. But also know that your father and I are also here for you as well, you know that right?”
“I do.”
“Alright well I hate to treat you like a child but it’s time for bed. In the morning we’ve got a lot of packing and sorting to do before your big move this weekend.”
“Yes mama. Goodnight, love you.”
“Love you too sweetie.” She kissed my head and I went up to my room and fell fast asleep after a long day.
Hi! I have a couple of requests, but of course, please don’t feel rushed and take your time on these!
• Newt x Reader (The Maze Runner): The reader is introduced to Ava, and Ava takes a liking to the reader. She gives the reader “special treatment” but it’s just a plan to get information out of the gladers and to use her. Ava tries to use the reader a a test subject but the boys & teresa get there just in time. (Didn’t realize how long that was, I’m so sorry!!!)
• Eric Coulter x Reader: The reader is a new found leader with Eric and Four. Some of the boys try to hit on her but Eric gets a little protective
• Clint Barton x Reader: Clint introduces you to the team as his girlfriend
hi! the newt and eric fics are linked in my masterlist :))
masterlist
Your boyfriend may be the one risking his life every day when he’s out fighting alongside his team, but you swear that you’re more nervous now than he’s ever been. You’re not taking on alien threats, nor sentient robot killing machines, but something worse. You have to meet the Avengers.
You’ve already been agonizing over this hopeless turn of events for a solid hour by the time Clint finally intervenes. He stands up from his seat in the corner of the room and walks over to you, gently taking your hands to stop your frenetic pacing.
“Y/N, it’s going to be alright, I promise. They’re going to love you.”
You eye him suspiciously. “Do you really know that, though? What if they’ve been lying to you about their ‘meeting girlfriends’ policies?”
Clint chuckles. “Love, I’m an agent. I’ve been monitoring these guys for years. Trust me, I know exactly what their standards are, and I also know that you exceed all of them by a long shot.”
You arch a brow. “Do I, though?”
He smiles. “Yes, you do. Honestly, I would be more worried about you being disappointed with them. I think most of them are kind of boring, barring Nat of course.”
You nod solemnly. “Nat is my favorite. Barring you, of course.”
Clint’s smile grows sarcastic. “Ha, ha. I should hope so.”
You smile as well, reaching over to squeeze his hand. “Always. Now, when are we going again?”
The answer is now, right now. You’re allowed one final grace period of five minutes or so to panic, then collect yourself and head to the door with Clint. He tucks your hand into his arm like he’s a proper gentleman, which makes you laugh. Nothing about Clint has ever been proper, especially not the fact that he makes his living by shooting people with arrows like he’s a real life Robin Hood.
Still, the aforementioned Robin Hood activities are what led to you meeting him in the first place. It had happened during the battle of New York, when he and his team were fighting against the Chitauri. Clint had saved your life, then accidentally turned up at a coffee shop a few days later at the exact same time as you.
Rather than ignore the man who made sure you weren’t yet another one of the missing, you stayed and talked with him, and now you’ve been dating for what could either be a matter of months or forever.
You’ve known all along what dating an Avenger would entail, and it certainly stresses you out whenever he has to go to war against the latest global threat, but you’ve never had to worry about meeting the others. Nat already took it upon herself to talk with you after she learned you were dating Clint, but you didn’t mind that.
Spending time with the entire team at once, though, is a completely different story. You’re not going to pretend that you haven’t had imposter syndrome at least a couple times as it relates to your relationship with Clint. Why should an Avenger, especially a spy that’s seen so much of the world, want to date a civilian?
Clint still manages to convince you of it every day. There’s a certain quiet to his expression whenever he’s with you, a peace that isn’t there whenever he comes home from work at the Avengers complex. It’s like you can see the tension unraveling from his limbs the longer he’s with you. You remind him that he’s human, Clint says, that he has something to fight for other than the nameless world. You make him want to keep coming back, day after day, just so he can chase that feeling of not being alone.
You can only hope that the Avengers pick up on that, too. Clint drives you over to the complex, and you spend the ride staring out of the windows, trying to practice what to say. You know how to talk to Natasha, obviously, she’s practically a sister to you now, but what about the others? How do you relate to Tony Stark, for goodness’ sake?
Before you know it, Clint is pulling into a parking space, and walking around the car to open your door. You walk with him to the door, then stand silently in the elevator as it ferries you up to your doom.
Just before the elevator arrives, Clint faces you one last time. “Remember, you’re going to be fine. I promise you, these guys are more scared of meeting you than you are of meeting them. They’ve probably been planning out their first impressions for days.”
You manage a weak laugh. “I don’t think Thor, God of Thunder, really has to worry about making a mortal think he’s cool.”
Clint arches a brow. “You’d be surprised. He’s already asked me what your favorite flower is at least twice.”
You grin. “And what did you tell him?”
Clint harrumphs. “I didn’t tell him anything. I won’t have a Norse deity trying to steal my girlfriend away from me.”
You laugh. “He couldn’t if he tried. I’m here to stay.”
A satisfied smile crosses Clint’s face. “Oh, I know, I just like hearing you say it.”
You elbow him in the side. “Mean.”
He laughs quietly just as the doors slide open with a crisp ding. You feel the butterflies in your stomach start to surge about again, all flapping wings and rising heartbeats, but one glance over at Clint and you’re able to calm yourself again. You have every right to be here.
Clint leads you down a set of corridors and into a wide open space full of floor to ceiling windows and friendly lighting. There are couches and chairs sprawled in a half circle, some the same industrial upholstery as every other piece of furniture in the complex, and others that seem as if they’ve been dragged here from apartments and attic sales for the sheer goal of making the facility seem livable.
A small crowd of heroes sits clustered on the various chairs, but they stand when they see you and Clint approach. As expected, Tony Stark is the first one to speak. He eyes you curiously, as you could be harboring moving gears and sparking wires, something that could endear you to him.
“So, you’re Y/N. I have to say, I feel betrayed. I thought Katniss over here would either be dating an agent or an arrow, but you’re very normal.”
You smile. “I think that’s a compliment, so thank you.”
He flashes you a disarming grin. “Always a compliment. Barton says that one of my greatest strengths is building other people up. He’s a big fan of mine.”
Clint coughs pointedly. “I don’t remember saying anything of the sort.”
“Nonsense,” Natasha says, materializing out of the corner of the room to head your way, “I can picture him saying that all the time. Don’t you agree, Y/N?”
You laugh, throwing your arms around the redhead’s shoulders. “Absolutely.”
Bruce Banner frowns from where he hovers at the very outskirts of the commotion. “Wait, Natasha, I didn’t realize you knew Y/N. I thought she’d never met any of us before.”
Nat grins. “I would never pass up the opportunity to question the girl dating my closest friend. I will have you know that she’s passed all of my tests.”
You raise a brow. “I’m glad to hear it.”
Steve Rogers crosses the room next, holding his hand out so the two of you can shake like reputable businessmen. “It’s a pleasure to meet you, Y/N. I’ve heard a lot of good things about you.”
From across the room, Tony shouts something in agreement as he reaches for a small glass in a wood lacquered cabinet. “Tell me about it. I’ve never heard Barton say so much in years, specifically when he isn’t complaining. You want a drink?”
This last part is directed at you, but you shake your head. “I’m fine, thanks. I think I want all my wits about me in this crowd.”
Clint chuckles. “Damn right. If you’re not careful, Banner and Stark will talk you into signing up to volunteer in their labs. If they offer you a tour, back away slowly.”
Bruce frowns. “We only had one explosion while you were there. I don’t see why that makes you want to warn your girlfriend away.”
Clint exchanges a look with you. “Yeah, I can see I was overreacting when I had to pick shards of test tubes out of my armor for days afterward. There’s nothing wrong with that.”
You just laugh. “Consider me warned. Is there anything else I should know before plunging myself into danger?”
A deep voice sounds from down the hall, and moments later, a tall, blond figure emerges into the room. “Only that you shouldn’t walk away from this place without getting the chance to know all of us. I, for one, am quite delighted to meet you.”
Your smile broadens, partially at the spoken sentiment and also at the look of consternation flickering across Clint’s face when he hears Thor’s declaration. Your boyfriend has always been good at maintaining a poker face, but this may be testing him a little too well.
“It’s nice to meet you too, Thor. How’s Asgard?”
He inclines his head gravely. “It is a wonderful place, as always. Perhaps I could show you sometime soon.”
Clint cocks his head to the side. “You’ve never offered any of us that chance.”
“Not all do you deserve it,” Thor says blandly. It takes everything in you to not burst out laughing at the faces of every Avenger in this room.
However, funny or not, you do owe it to your boyfriend to stand by him. “I appreciate the offer, but I’ve already sworn to go on a trip with Clint over the next couple of days. I don’t want to miss out on our time together, so I’m afraid I’ll have to put Asgard on hold for the time being.”
Thor seems to accept this, and claps Clint on the shoulder. “A worthy response. The two of you are good for each other. I can see it.”
With that, the god leaves the room again, leaving the remaining Avengers and yourself to stare at each other with mirror expressions of bafflement and humor.
Tony breaks the silence at last. “Well, I’d be lying if I said it wasn’t interesting around here. I may never understand him, but who does?”
You grin. “Yeah, I’m starting to get that.”
Looking around at the assembled heroes, you think you can understand why Clint chose to stay on the team instead of going back to being a solo S.H.I.E.L.D. agent once more. It isn’t just because he wants chances to protect the people of this world, he’d get that as an agent, too.
It’s because of this team, the Avengers. There is a sense of belonging that ties all of them together, even when they’re poking fun at each other. No reason they’re always able to fight and win their battles, even despite terrible odds. In a place like this, with a team like this, anyone would feel inspired to give their all.
You’re glad that you went with Clint to meet the team, even though you were nervous at first. This is his family, in a way. Now, it’s yours, too. That sounds pretty good to you.
This is the first thing I've written in a long while, it might not be my best work but I really like it :)

Request: Hi there! May I please request a one-shot for a Clint Barton x Reader! Something like where the reader is sleeping in the Avengers compound while the team is out partying that night or something like that. The reader wakes up in the middle of the night due to sounds coming from from outside their room. They investigate that intruders have gotten in the tower and the reader freaks out and tries to find a way to escape. While in the process, they hide in another room and low and behold…Clint comes up from behind them and covers their mouth to keep them quiet. Basically the reader thought they were home alone, intruders come in, tries to hide, Clint finds the reader and just fluffy romance stuff that we love. I’ll leave the rest up to you!
It had been a long week, that’s for damn sure, the team decided to celebrate by going out. I however decided to take advantage of an empty tower and get some well needed sleep. The last mission we all went on really did a number on my body and I needed rest. The steam from inside the shower flooded into the bathroom as I opened the shower door. I wrapped the towel around my body and headed into my bedroom, changed into my comfiest pajamas and flopped down into bed, easing into a restful sleep.
BANG. The noise startled me awake and I leaped out of bed. I walk over to my door to open it but freeze when I hear voices coming from the hall. The team maybe. I checked my clock 12:30am. Usually when the team went out they didn’t come back until well after 4am.
“Pick that up and lets finish looking through these rooms. It’s the Avengers tower there’s gotta be something.” a voice I didn’t recognize said as I heard the door to the room next to mine open. I placed my hand on my mouth and as quietly as possible crawled to my bathroom where I knew there was a large vent.
I got to the bathroom and popped the vent open. I hauled my body up and into the vent as I heard my bedroom door open, I quietly put the vent cover back into place and started crawling through the vent to another room. I heard voices from underneath me, I looked through the vent cover coming up and saw people dressed in all dark clothes with masks covering their faces. They were currently exiting the room. Perfect, I’ll go in here. After they left and I heard the door shut I popped down out of the vent just to get grabbed and dragged into the bathroom. A hand covered my mouth as I thrashed around trying to get my attacker to let me go.
“Relax” a familiar voice whispered into my ear. I shifted so I could see who, I let out a sigh of relief as I saw Clint looking back at me. He took his hand off my mouth and turned me around with his hands. He did a quick scan of me.
“Are you OK?” He asked as he placed his hands on my face inspecting it. I nodded, not wanting to speak in fear of them hearing me. It was then that I realized just how close I was to my crush. I felt my face heat up and willed my heart to stop beating so fast.
“Do you know who those guys are?” I leaned in closer to his ear so I could whisper as quietly as possible.
“No,” He whispered back. “I already let Tony know, just waiting for an answer.” I nodded and moved to sit down on the shower floor. He followed me, as he got situated I leaned my head onto his shoulder. I could feel his head turn down to look at me but I kept my stare forward. Clint’s phone lit up with a notification.
“It’s from Tony” I gaze over at the screen to see that they were all on their way back.
“Are they sober?” I asked. He shrugged his shoulders.
“Well the serum prevents Steve from getting drunk, so at least he will be” I let out a quiet chuckle. I took in the situation that we were in and took a deep shuddering breath.
“I’m not sure why I’m freaking out,” I whispered to him. He shifted a bit in his place and wrapped an arm around my shoulder.
“I’m not gonna judge ya.” He rubbed my shoulder soothingly as I relaxed into his chest. I grabbed his other hand and held it in my own, seeking comfort in him.
“I fight aliens and criminals on a daily basis and a break in is what scares me,” I let out a watery chuckle “go figure” Clint rubbed his thumb over the back of my hand.
“We all have our fears,” I peered up at him to see him already looking down at me. I realized just how close we were and I saw his eyes flicker down to look at my lips and started to lean in.
“Y/N? Clint?” He paused, I could feel his breath on my lips.
“I guess they are back.” I whispered.
“We should probably go tell them we’re alright.” He whispered back. All I could do was give a small nod. He slowly backed away from me and stood up, dusting off his pants before offering his hand to help me up. He turned around and before he could leave the bathroom I grabbed his hand again. A million thoughts circled my brain as he turned his head to look at me. I pulled him towards me bringing my other hand up to his face and brought my lips to his. It took him a second to respond but he did; wrapping an arm around my waist to bring me closer and his other hand came up to the back of my head.
“Well, well, well. Certainly took you guys long enough.” A voice drawled from the bathroom door. We broke our kiss and looked over to see Natasha leaning against the door frame, lazily swishing around a water bottle. She straightened herself up before motioning us to leave the bathroom.
“They are starting to look into who might’ve broken in and how. You guys might want to hurry up and come out.” She mused.
“We’ll be right there.” Clint said loosening his grip on my waist. Natasha turned on her heel and left, but not before turning back to look at us and smirked. I leant my head on his chest and let out a breathy giggle. It was silent for a few moments.
“So what do ya say we go let them know we’re alright and then we get some snacks and watch a movie?” He asked, smiling down at me. I nodded.
Hi I’m the anon who asked for Clint 😂‼️ I was shy lol.
Anyways, love that your going to write for him, I was thinking something where he & the R (Fem) are married and maybe he tells her that he’s Ronin? And she doesn’t know how to react? But then he has a nightmare and R comforts him? Idk where I was going w/ this lol. Lmk if you have any questions!
I’ll leave the writing to you :) 🤍
Hi bestie! I'm so sorry this took so long, it got lost in my drafts!
Dreams - Clint Barton
Warnings: Angst, fluff, mentions of Natasha's death and the snap.
AN: I know this isn't a gif of Clint but I was in a aesthetic mood
At first you couldn't comprehend it. The words Clint spoke seemed foreign as if from another man, he sounded the same, just like the man you married but you couldn't believe the words that left his lips.
"The Ronin was me".
Though it was simple you couldn't understand it. Your husband, an Avenger and hero was the same person to terrorize and kill many, a vigilante that moved like a ghost through the night.
Clint watched you, elbows on knees and hands cupping his mouth as you processed the news. He watched the shine in your eyes fade, replaced by confusion and maybe that of fear. He hated that more than all of the blood he had shed. The look in your eyes far away and terrified, pleading for him to tell you something other than the hard cold truth. When you spoke it almost broke him.
"Why?" the emotion in your voice made Clint's blood run cold and he wondered if he'd made the right decision in telling you. Would you still love him after all he'd done?
"You were gone, I watched you disappear and I couldn't take it. One minute I was holding you and the next-" Clint's eyes burned with the threat of tears that he was afraid to let fall. "You turned to dust".
Memories of all that had happened flashed against Clint's mind, bringing him from past to present like the flicker of lights. You were watching him in silence, tears welling against your eyes with just as many thoughts ringing in your mind. There was nothing you could do to change the past, to rewind and take away the pain your husband was feeling. You still loved him, you always would, and as raw emotion filled the room you made your way forward, wrapping Clint in your embrace.
-
When night fell, you lay beside him in your shared bed, thinking over everything that had been uncovered that day. The way you could see Clint's heart breaking behind his eyes, the way he had gripped you tight, the both of you in tears over something as simple as the truth.
You felt the man beside you shift, once, then twice, muttering to himself as you turned to face him. In the darkness you could barely make out his features but there was no mistaking the panic that flowed off of Clint as he wrestled with the horrors of sleep. He had told you about his nightmares before, and you had experienced them with him too, but now holding this new information you understood why they held so much pain. They weren't just about his time as an Avenger, a shield agent like you were told. They were about his heartbreak. Losing Natasha, you, and half of the world. Going rouge out of grief, and shedding blood out of pain.
Sitting up and turning on the light you pressed your hand to Clint's chest, trying your best not to startle him. In his sleep he reached for it, trying to pry your palm away from his body, but you kept it there, calling his name gently as he writhed. You had no idea what was happening inside his head. What he was seeing, what he thought you were in his nightmare, but you shook him gently despite all this. Waking him up was all you could think of, unable to bare the thought of watching him suffer in sleep. Clint muttered, names, dates, and other nonsensical things, words falling from his lips like water from a fountain. They were all soft, quiet sounds in contrast to the look of pain reflected upon his face. But when the screams came you couldn't help but jump.
They were so sudden, gut-wrenching sounds, but the worst part was they came in the form of your name. Your husband was screaming for you, mourning in his dreams and you couldn't tell him that you were right there. That you were back, no longer dust in his arms. Instead of continuing with the calm calling of his name, you returned his cries, wishing to wake him from this as soon as possible. You called his name, pleading for him to leave his slumber, until finally he shot up in the bed, a jack-in-the-box in the figure of Clint Barton.
At first he sat there, panic falling off him in waves as he adjusted to where he was, who he was. And then he turned to you, still shaking from all he had suffered in sleep, relief swelling over his face.
"You're here"
He spoke quietly but you could hear the agony in his voice, a single tear making it's way down his cheek like in the last scene of a movie. It might have seemed like one to him, the man still looking at you as though you were a figment of his imagination. Shuffling forward, you nodded before pulling him close. "I'll always be here".
And just like that, Clint was shaking again. Sobs wracking his body as he clung to you, like you were the life vest keeping him afloat. Your heart was burning, breaking in every way it knew how, but you held him there, loving him unconditionally with all his broken parts.

AN: I know this is short, I am so sorry but I hope you like it.
TITLE: All Kinds of Kinds
CHAPTER: One-Shot
PAIRING: No Pairing
RATING: T
SUMMARY: An accident brings someone from Clint's past back into his life.
Laura and Clint were cleaning the house when something came onto the radio.
“In other news, the Carson Carnival of Traveling Wonders big-top burned down today after a fire-twirler let go of one of his batons. Several performers and some attendees were killed, but the list of survivors hasn’t been released yet”.
Clint’s heart nearly stopped beating.
“Honey, is everything alright?” Laura asked him.
“Yeah. Everything’s fine.” He quickly left the room and made a phone call.
“Fury.”
“Is…is she…?”
“I haven’t received any information yet. We’re sending some agents out tomorrow."
“If you hear anything about either them, will you let me know?”
“I will.”
Clint hung up the phone and pressed the palm of his hand to his forehead.
“Clint?” Laura asked.
“I’m…I’m fine.”
“No you’re not.”
“It’s just…that news report…hit a little close to home is all.”
“You gonna be okay?”
Clint put an arm around her shoulders and kissed her forehead. “Yeah.”

Tracking down her uncle was surprising easily. Livy nervously walked up to the front door. She could hear the sounds of kids running around and she briefly thought about leaving. She took a deep breath and knocked on the door.
A brunette woman answered.
Laura was confused as to why a teenage girl was standing on her doorstep with just a backpack.
“Umm…does Clint Barton live here?” Livy asked.
Livy looked past the woman and found a pair of familiar blue/grey eyes. “Hey Uncle Clint”, she said.
Laura moved out of the way and Clint ran to Livy and hugged her.
Livy clutched onto her uncle as she started to cry.
“Shhh, it’s okay now”, Clint said stroking her hair, “You’re safe now”.
Livy felt something tug her on pants, interrupting the family reunion. She looked down and saw a little boy. She scooped him up and said, “And who might you be?”
The baby garbled and started chewing on his fist.
“He’s adorable”, Livy told them.
“He’s the newest addition. Nathaniel Pietro Barton”, Clint said.
“After Natasha?”
“Wait. How do you know about Natasha?” Clint asked her, starting to get suspicious.
“I know people who know people. How do you think I was able to track you down so easily? My father taught me quite a few things”.
“Barney, did he…?” Clint asked.
Livy’s silence gave him his answer. She looked at her uncle and his wife. “I…I didn’t have anywhere to go.”
“You can stay as long you want.”
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
Watching the family go about their night felt odd for Livy. She’d never had a mother who cooked dinner. She would usually eat whatever was in the concession trailer. Her father never even tucked her into bed.
Little Nathaniel never left her side.
Clint and Laura found it rather cute.
Livy was so gentle with him, like she was used to holding and caring for a baby. When the children were in bed, Clint sat down beside Livy on the couch.
“Livy, is there something you’re not telling me?” he asked her.
Livy burst into tears. “He was so small. I couldn’t save him”, she cried, “I tried, but they wouldn’t let me go back in once the fire started”.
“Was he yours?”
She shook her head. “But he might as well have been. I loved him so much.” Once Livy had calmed down, she wiped at her face. “We make quite a pair don’t we?” Livy asked, bitterly.
“If a carney turned SHIELD agent can have a family and give his children a normal childhood, you can do anything.”
Livy sniffled and put her head on Clint’s shoulder. “Thank you.”
Clint wrapped an arm around her shoulders and Livy curled up into his chest. “My mama always said It takes all kinds of kinds to keep this world spinning. You’ll be okay, Livy Barton.”
