I love you emotional Hermes who was crying with me throughout Road to hell reprise until the very end of the show
I love you audience member who gasped loudly when Orpheus turned around
I love you If it's true Orpheus who's genuinely upset, voice breaking and screaming
I love you When was the last time you saw the sky? Wipe away your tears brother. Brother, I know how you feel.
I love you trombone player who's a major part of the story, despite not actually being in it
I love you poignant opening number that energises the entire building
21st October 2024 Sondheim on Sondheim Act 1.m4a
For anyone who wanted my full Sondheim on Sondheim audio ✨
It’s an old song, but we’re gonna sing it again. 🌹 Clive Rowe, Marley Fenton, Bethany Antonia and the Year 3 cast of Hadestown UK perform ‘Road To Hell’
Part 5 of my Black and Biracial actors in the Russell T Davies era of Doctor Who posts!
Voyage of the Damned has Clive Rowe as Morvin Van Huff, mainly known from children all over the UK as Duke from Tracy Beaker. We also get a voice credit from Colin McFarlane as the Heavenly Host! He also appeared in Children of Earth as General Austin Pierce.
1st we have Partners In Crime, with Verona Joseph as Penny Carter a journalist. Penny Carter was originally a companion set to appear in series 4 as another love interest for the Doctor before Catherine Tate was secured as companion, reprising her role from The Runaway Bride, now with a name: Donna Noble. Whether or not Russell planned for Penny to be played by a black actress, this would have been the second love story between a black companion and The Doctor.
Next, we have Planet of the Ood, with Roger Griffiths as Kess who tries to murder the Doctor in the most violent way possible with his machinery. His maniacal laughter is very entertaining.
In the Sontaran Strategem we get Welsey Theobold as Steve Gray a Unit Soldier. In The in the Poison Sky we get Trinity Wells again! Then In The Doctors Daughter we get Lekan Lawal as a soldier.
Part 6 on the way!
