Clock Tower: Rewind (1995, 2024)

The survival horror genre owes a lot to adventure games, and that's extremely evident in this kinda early example (although it was released a few years after Alone in the Dark).

The mood and aesthetic are great. The gameplay is satisfying, if slow and often obscure. Escaping in the car was pretty straightforward, but I needed a guide to get a better ending.

(Rewind is the first official international version, with a neat little anime intro, extras like motion comics, and a few optional quality-of-life changes.)
