Before & after opening and cleaning some very rare flocked toys that were covered in spots of fuzzy black mold inside their packaging. I used a very soft toothbrush and watered down oxiclean and got every single bit of it off without ruining their flocking. I was very proud of myself for saving these beauties! That lamb is one of my favorite toys of all time ;u;

What do we do with an obscure 37 year old doll?

I bought a Meritus Tuli-chan/Eli-Chan clone doll from 1984 after talking to @aubreysilver​ about them. My love for Mattel Tuli-chan seems to be undying, so I was curious about this clone. Plus she is rocking the rainbow sweatbands! So I opened her.

Of course she had a broken hip. Her head melted her body. Her arms are sticky as hell to the point where touching them left fingerprints on them. Her hair is rooted at the part only, but its saran and falling out. She has a ball neck connector like a clone doll.

Meritus beside Tuli... Very sus. But for a clone doll, she is actually pretty well made. 

I ended up giving her a Francie body and I think she is adorable!

Dolls I Didn't Buy: Meritus Teeny Beans (1997)

Dad got the urge to drive up the rural east side of Contra Costa, which turned out to be better for the scenery than the thrift stores. This heap of roughly Kelly-sized baby dolls caught my eye. According to Ghost of the Doll, they're Meritus Teeny Beans, a "mini" line extension of the 10" Baby Beans line that Meritus took over in 1991, after Mattel dropped the concept.

This batch is from the Animals and Insects set issued in 1997. Clockwise from top right: Song Bird (blue), Sleepy Bear (brown), Lucky Puppy (beige), and Spring Chick (yellow). They're pretty darn cute, but too large to add to Steffi Love's one-woman baby boom.

Two booths at the same antique mall had a good selection of fixer Barbies, but nothing useful to me. We ended up driving as far as Pittsburg, which is the California version of a decaying Housatonic Valley industrial town, but with nothing equivalent to the huge salvage store in Derby.
