Clone Tattoo Headcanons

Yes so now I’m thinking about this and so I thought I’d stare my thoughts! (I also have mentioned a few of these in fics so I thought I’d just explain it here)

Universal 

All the clones have their CT or CC number on their wrist

I am pretty sure the Kaminoans can’t tell them apart or don’t care enough to do so but if they have their number right there on their wrist then they automatically know which clone is which

Many troopers chose to get a cover up over their number but others don’t

When a clone joins a battalion they get a band of their battalion’s color

Like the 501st has a blue band on their left bicep, the Coruscant guard has a rad band around their right forearm

The 104th had a maroon band around their tricep but after Malevolence the survivors got two gray bands on top and bottom of the maroon.

Jesse

obviously his big ass Republic cog tattoo

He 100% got that while absolutely shit faced drunk but the only one that knows this is Fives. Kix had wanted a night off and Echo was recovering from an injury so Fives and Jesse went out drinking together

Jesse absolutely will never admit that he was drunk when he got the tattoo and Fives will never tell anybody he was because then Jesse would tell everyone about the embarrassing Fives also got while he was also shit faced

Jesse definitely has a sleeve on his right arm that is starting to extend to his chest and shoulder

It consists of imagery from planets they’ve visited on campaigns and also contains tributes to his fallen brothers

He has a small blue tattoo mimicking Hardcase’s face tattoos in the sleeve, he has a handprint somewhere near his elbow, and he also has a small 5 hidden in there somewhere as well

Fives

obviously his 5 tattoo on his temple

He has a simplistic style Z-6 Rotary blaster on his tricep as a tribute to Hevy (Echo has the same design)

He and Echo got 99 tattooed on their back right side to honor 99

He has a detailed krayt dragon skull on his back

He has the words ‘call me captain’ on the inside of his left arm (definitely wasn’t drunk)

After the citadel Fives got a small handprint tattooed where Echo’s handprint had been on his own armor

The tattoo that he will never speak of is a replica of one of the 212ths ship nose art depicting Commander Cody in a twi’lek dancer pose, complete with the bare legs and over exaggerated proportions.

And its on his left ass cheek.

Jesse has a picture of this tattoo and will use it as blackmail

Echo

he also has the same Z-6 rotary blaster design but its on his right thigh

He has a detailed Rishi eel down his spine to honor Cutup

He has a matching 99 tattoo with fives 

After joining the 501st he got a skeleton handprint on his chest under where Rex’s handprint is on his armor

definitely has his favorite reg manual protocol tattooed somewhere, but its not the whole protocol, just the number (its order 69 because he things its absolutely hilarious and he was a little drunk)

He as the words “or call me sir” on the inside of his left arm (definitely wasn’t drunk)

after he is rescued from Skako minor he gets a 5 tattooed over his heart

On his left arm he gets 4 dominos, 1/0-5/0 but the 3rd domino is missing because that was his number in their squad

Under his 501st blue band he gets a new red and black band for his new squad

Hardcase

obviously his cool blue face and head tattoos, oh and those extend down his back and arm where the line turns into his 501st blue band

he has his favorite rotary blaster tattooed with a name banner and flowers around it on his right arm

The name is Jennifer because he names his blasters

he would probably get a quote he really likes on his forearm

Rex

he has a tribute to all his closest brothers down his right side

handprint for Echo, 5 for Fives, blue for Hardcase, lightning bolts for Kix, republic cog for Jesse, tear drop for Tup, V for Dogma, Wolffe pack symbol for Wolffe, red band for Fox, Bly’s yellow face markings, etc

he has a script tattoo on his side from an old mandalorian story that Jango told the cadets when they were young, Cody has the same script as Rex

he got the Fulcrum symbol after Malachor

Ok ok but Boba Fett having a really good relationship with the clones?

The vode all love him, and they’ve unanimously decided to give him the nickname of Vode Commander so when the Kaminoans insist on ‘ranks and numbers only’ they have something to call him??

Boba staying on Kamino while Jango collects bounties under Cody and Ponds’ watchful eyes? Jango being present in the older vode’s lives but never as much or as deeply as Boba? (Cody ends up recognising many of Obi wan’s disguised injuries by seeing Boba get hurt and then trying to impress Ponds)

Boba being the same age as the oldest batches, sneaking into classes with the clones half his age, stealing Jango’s ‘kill tally’ tattoo machine (he’s just that kind of guy) and that’s the start of personalised tattoos when they graduate??

I can't draw but: a clone with a traditional MOM heart tattoo - the sort with daggers and roses - on his bicep.

I wish I knew why every other tattooed clone looks like they were inked by an artist but poor Crosshair looks like his was applied by a cadet with a nearly dried-out Sharpie and a jam jar lid.

If you were to get a clone theme tattoo (example: the bad batch armor skull design or jaig eyes) where would you have it placed?

I actually already have a simple star wars tattoo by my ankle, with a tiefighter, an x-wing and Ahsokas facemarkings, so I feel like for the aesthetic the jaig eyes would fit perfectly with that Oooohhh and maybe get the 5 from Fives too and the republic logo from Jesse

for real though who did the clones’ tattoos. did they just learn from the space equivalent of youtube. did they just see someone with tattoos and think ‘hey thats rad hey anyone wanna let me practice on them’ and 50 guys are like yeah sure. are any of them licensed. do civvies see the fantastic artwork some of these guys are doing and request that one specific clone ink them.

Bad Batch Tattoo Headcannons

Requested by @girlzrok-archive!

I believe that all of them got 99′s number tattooed on them, not just because it was their Clone Force Number but also in tribute to 99 (Echo was ahead of the game with this one!)

I also headcannon that they all have the word ‘defective’ tattooed on them but each of them have it in a different language, matching up with a language one of the bounty hunter trainers spoke in

Also going off the first one, they have a Red and Black band around their left thigh

Hunter

obviously his face skull tattoo, but I believe this tattoo extends down his neck, chest, and arm (he's got that upper body half skeleton going on)

Hunter’s defective is in Milevan (for Bric)

He has a fang cat skull on his right shoulder

Tech

While he was drunk he got the first 50 numbers to pi tattooed on his side

He now tries to play it off as a totally meaningful tattoo with a whole back story and everything but the whole Bad Batch knows the truth

when he was younger he hyper fixated on the large sea creatures in the oceans of Kamino and that fascination never really went away, this lead to him getting a get a Saberjowl wrapped around his right arm

His defective is in Kaminoan 

he has a pair of bands on his left arm (a match for crosshair)

Crosshair

that kriffing tattoo on his face was a stick and poke that he’s too proud to get touched up by a professional

he has a pair of bands on his left arm (match for Tech)

while on a mission on a remote desert world, they met many of the locals and he really was mesmerized by their culture, leading him to get a traditional style tattoo from one of their artists (Polynesian inspo) on his upper arm

His defective is in Arconese (for El-Les)

Wrecker

he also has a tribal style tattoo that extends down his arm and across the left side of his chest

His defective is in Ryl

he has at least one notable aspect of each of the missions they complete on a sleeve on his right arm (could just be a planet, could be imagery, could be a certain bomb he used) just something to remember them

he has a Greater Krayt dragon skull at the base of his neck

Echo was in the last one so I just went with the OG Bad Batchers!
