Here’s my oil painting progress

Just really remember that clouds are 3-d shapes and they look extra pretty when light is like coming from within

There are times when lines should be fuzzy and lines should be v sharp

Umm just remember go more more more with white highlight at the end

Make many popcorn shapes and shade them how you would a sphere

Nothing is one solid color, color it with many gradients cause that looks cool

It looks cool when you ^look top right corner of last photo - you shade the sphere shapes with a darker color in the middle

Make it so your darker colors are more vivid than your lighter colors

Can you make a tutorial on how to draw clouds as fluffy and amazing as you do? ☁☁☁

oh- i’m glad you like them!

so, for the clouds in the dtiys, I used two programs, sai and firealpaca

but i’m going to explain with firealpaca

sai can be added if you want to, but I don’t think it’s necessary

so here is how I usually make them:

using the finger tool, try to blend the drawing together.

it can take a bit of time, but be patient, the result can be great 

you can use the water color and the airbrush to blend it a bit more, and the result will look like this

you might keep this into one layer, but make sure you keep a double in case you mess up

use the density+ mode on the layer, and take the airbrush to color the inside-

even if you use the same color, the hues are going to get darker because of the mode of the layer- it makes the shadows more deep- if you dislike the hue, you can still change it with the filter, and choose the hue and saturation setting and you’ll get it for sure

one of the most important step is to take the finger tool again, and to “blur” the sides of your white base cloud-

if there is some sides that are not burred, you go to the layer on top- (the one highlighted, the one under is just a copy for me)

the last one is a bonus but you can make another layer on top, (mode density+) and color the under with a colder hue- 

the result can look odd at first, so you go to the hue settings again and you fix it there

cloud tutorial☁️

step one: make a sketch of a cloud shape. this one kinda sucks because the bottom is too flat so don’t do what i did lol

step two: add some shadows to the bottom of the cloud by making hash marks of varying lengths and thicknesses. 

step three: add more shadows to the top and middle of the cloud by doing the same thing. it doesn’t have to look perfect: clouds aren’t. :)

Maybe it isn’t the best drawing but I just wanted to show you how I achieve some effects. I usually draw lanscapes from life so this is the quickest way to get what I need. It’s always best to do colour studies to actually learn how everything works but if you want to draw a cloud... :) hope it’s helpful! Greetings anon, strap yourself in and prepare to get learnt. Also please note that I can’t do realistic clouds.

Throughout this tutorial I will be using a brush which I’m not sure if it’s on other programs (I use clip studio paint) It’s called indian ink:

If you don’t have the brush try to find one with the same effect in your program!

Let’s begin:

Now switch to the brush that I showed before!

Use this step to add any extra lighter or darker clouds, and blen the colours, but not too much!!! Now you are finished with the clouds add some background!!! You can do anything (you can also add the plane swoosh lines)

Here’s some examples if you’re stuck;
