“I know it’s silly,” she started, shoving some purple away away from her face and tucking it behind her ear, “but I was looking forward to experiencing rain here in Wonderland. I was hoping it would be similar to the weather back home.” Mizuki’s head fell down as she forced a smile, waving in its weariness. She was wrong. Dead wrong. There was no metallic smell of rust. Instead, it smelled like dirt and dew. 

Lightning flashed across the air, and electricity coursed through her body. For a moment it felt like she was electrocuted even though the lightning was miles away. She gasped for air, panic rising in her chest. “It’s too bad, though,” she said with a slight wince. “If I knew it was going to rain today, I would’ve brought my umbrella.”
