Sorry to Curdpost but every time I think of Lemon Curd I accidentally make his and Lemon Zest's relationship worse

Like in my little AU their relationship is strained because Lemon Curd fears the day Zest takes his position and is just as unprepared as he was and needs him to take things seriously because Curd damn near collapsed at first, and Lemon Zest despises the pressure being placed on his shoulders for seemingly no reason where none of his efforts seem to matter and any accomplishment is worthless since it isn't a better more impressive accomplishment.

And they don't talk to each other

I'm not strong enough to muster strained siblings it gets me too bad but I respect your commitment to making them Worse with every iteration.

I think Curd loves his brother very much (I imagine he had a bit of an overprotective phase when they were younger, given that I hc them at about 6 years apart? Curd's like 28 and Zest's 22. in its mind.) but has gradually had to crack down more and more on Zest's carefree nature as Zest's gotten older. Of course Zest doesn't care and won't change so Curd just has to cover for his younger brother's antics, which is thankfully counteracted by how effective Zest is when he locks in. I don't think they ever have nice deep chats but Zest seems to be happy to leave things to his big bro (Citrus Altar Hard Mode blurb text, pictured below) so they probably chat a bit about work.

Curd's stern and disciplined but I dunno I just can't imagine him being a bad brother... growing up w Zest probably made him a bit softer towards people with "off-putting" personalities (like Buttermilk!). Zest will always be a free spirit but I think the brothers are probably each other's closest relationship. They can get on each other's nerves but I do think Curd is proud of his brother's skill... the most would be Zest takes Curd for granted a bit but post-adventure mode I think he'd try harder to maintain their connection.

I don't think Zest is really at risk of taking over Curd's position (too volatile mostly), and to a certain extent I think Curd was groomed for the role of *Knight Commander so he's accustomed to the pressure. Whoever is in charge of promotions wants someone who will follow/give exact orders, and I think Curd is that. And Zest certainly is not.

Oh I absolutely adore pet names!

I would say my favorite is, 'darling.' However, I also frequently use sweetheart, bunny, honey, babe, little farmer, my love... Really the list goes on!
