Yuga: He absolutely does have the passion a clown requires, the drive to achieve his goals even if he gets dunked on.

However his failing is not on purpose or with grace to make you smile, its because he is a fool who keeps getting beat up. A sore loser cannot be a clown.

Also his art is shared as a flex, not to let you be happy in its presence too.

Fyer: Listen, I love this man. He helps Link out a bunch, even if its just him doing his job. I love his outfit and his fun dialogue.

He is however, nothing but a man in a clown disguise.

Its pretty common for people who are not true clowns to dress up as one to make money, to advertise, to feed into capitalism. A clown can desire money, but a clown must KNOW things like how to put on a good show. Perhaps they know tricks, or perhaps are simply good at comedy and have a charming smile! But its not just a costume, it's a profession with STANDARDS. You cant just stand there.

Dodoh: I DESPISE THIS MAN. You'd think he was a good clown, I mean, he's cheery and loves fun! He's got the vibe. FALSE.

When you meet him he is mopey and pathetic, his game is ruined because he lost one accessory. That is a quitter spirit that no clown should even pretend to have. The show must go on!

And even after you get him the wheel back... Yeah he's joyful and goofy and does a little dance... But its all lies. He just wants you to play his game. You give him money, and he does no tricks... he makes no jokes... He is just an impostor who has so many people fooled... But I can see through him. I know he is but a manipulative liar that's dirtying the title of clowns.

He is far worse than Fyer, because he isnt just a bad clown, he LIES about it for profit... (Perhaps out of ignorance but who knows.)

Hello people of Clownblr! I found this lil lassie on the streets recently, and I was wondering if anyone knows what kind of clown she is? She's definitely some sort of porcelain, but aside from that?

She appears to be blind in one eye, I'm a bit concerned about that. Is the light blue colour natural in her breed, or is she, indeed, half blind?

I think she might be a scientist mix, specifically a nurse, but I am unsure if scientist-clown mixes are even possible. So, people of Clownblr, I ask you for help

Spinel isn’t a clown, she is a jester!!

spinel is the closest thing to a jester an alien gem with a form made entirely out of light can be, and i will not shut up about this until people understand that she is what a jester looks like after being abandoned!!! she is one of the few examples of a fool that ive seen in media that is properly portrayed! the extreme aggression, moodswings, depression, feelings of guilt and pain, and being scared of contact are all signs of an abandoned jester, known as a fool for those new to this, and pink diamond is a prime example of a selfish and neglectful owner who was unaware of the needs of a jester and annoyed when confronted by them.

tingle, he doesn't lack spirit but I want to see how you rate him

Listen, I get where folks are coming from. Like this guy does have a whimsical aura at times. But he's just not a clown!

I think the closest version of Tingle to being a clown would be his map making work in Majora's mask. He's all dressed up, he's working hard, he's even doing a fun trick by floating with a balloon!

But he's not a clown. He's not doing any of that to entertain YOU. He is doing that to make some cash and live his dream of being a fairy. In fact I think... Even though clowns are very respectable... Calling Majora's Mask Tingle a clown would insult him. That itself removes everything clown-like about him.

A clown needs to embrace the goofs, to be open and happy to be the butt of jokes. Tingle simply is not.

Extra: Wind Waker Tingle is the least like a clown because he is a money hungry talentless capitalist who makes others do the work for him. That's like the total opposite of a circus performer. Also he might be a murderer, which I guess wouldn't disqualify someone outright but here it definetly does.

Fyer and Falbi from twilight princess!! how good of clowns are they?

I already reviewed Fyer for a prior ask, but I will add that sad clowns are a real trope in circus performances, and can be very fun. I just dont think Fyer is putting on an act, I think he's just depressed.

Falbi: So like on a basic level he falls to many of the same trappings as other characters I've been told to review. He is a clown costume just to stir up business. However he is implied to have worked in the circus with Fyer, so it is completely possible he's earned his uniform even if its being used for evil.

Yknow, he has the energy, he's cheerful he's vibing. I do feel he is putting in the effort even if he is not doing an actual clown show.

However.

He is really really scary. I see this man and I want to go home. He has the potential to be a real solid clown in theory but in practise I'm SCARED AND I miss my MOMMY.
