Not to join a “people are watching severance wrong” train to combat a “people are watching severance wrong” train but i saw a guy going off about theories it definitely wasn’t and saying it can’t be to create the perfect (emotionless) worker bc it wouldn’t make sense how they did it and like.

The person i saw’s point was also that the writers don’t have a plan and maybe they do that but maybe don’t assume the cult is actually doing something productive and not insane? Dude severance has me crazy and i have one ep left to be caught up (spoilers) and im risking my phone in the tub

Like burt wanting a version of him innocent of guilt and mark wanting a version innocent of pain and dylan wanting to be innocent of failure and like all the Kobels and Ms Huangs having that painful and crucial knowledge weaponized against them by the cult and weaponizing it against others

And honestly I’d be surprised if Cobel didn’t run right back to them with mark (don’t spoil me) bc she’s been so overfed the labor and that she has no worth without lumon and eustace doing the same thing and of course this cult capitalism throughline fits so well with their anachronistic aesthetic

And irving saying he’d never really been loved and irving being talked back from leaving by dylan after burt but then Dylan also feels loved romantically once and leaves after it fails and both of them being loved by each other and their team and irving dying anyway for helly and Irving at the end in the train leaving too

Mark probably going to choose helly over gemma and finishing the file bc if it’s the only love left and he already “sacrificed” three people for his team
