You don’t have to be productive every single day of your life. Your body needs rest, your mind needs rest. Your worth isn’t defined by how productive you are. Be mindful of that and take a break.

You did what you could today, be proud of that
Sometimes you just have to accept that a person’s perspective on you isn’t what you hoped it to be. There’s gonna be people out there who dislike you because you took too long in the queue to pack your change away. There’s gonna be people who dislike you because they only caught the tail end of a conversation you had with a friend. People may dislike you because you laughed too loudly in public once.
But you gotta remember that with the bad also comes the good!! People out there may remember you as someone who held a door open for them. They may remember you as someone who got excited when you saw their puppy. Even something as small as cleaning up after yourself in a cafe, which saved them a little extra work.
I know it’s hard not to focus on the negative aspects and worry about the way people see us, but I promise you that you’ll feel better when you realise that not everyone will accept you at your face value, and that it’s okay!! You know who you are, and what you represent. The people that truly matter will see that.
Hello!
This is a reminder to relax your shoulders and unclench your jaw. You’re welcome!
I just watched Whispers of the Heart a few days ago with a friend, and there was a little speech that really resounded with me and I think it should be talked about more. It was the scene where the protagonist was beginning to doubt her abilities, and a kind old gentleman gave her a stone and said:
“Emeralds are worth a lot of money, but they need to be cut and polished first. When you first become an artist, you’re like that rock. You’re in a raw, natural state, with hidden gems inside. You need to dig down deep and find the emeralds tucked away inside you. And that’s just the beginning. Once you’ve found your gems, you have to polish them. It takes a lot of hard work. Oh, and here’s the tricky part. Look at the crack in the geode. You see that big green crystal there? You could spend years polishing that, and it wouldn’t be worth much at all. The smaller crystals are much more valuable. And there may be some even deeper inside that you can’t see.”
This is such a great metaphor for hobbies and talents alike. We all have valuable crystals inside of us, it may take some time to find them, but they’re most certainly there. You can’t expect perfection from the first look at a crystal. It may need to be pried open, polished and taken care of. Eventually though, you may find that there’s a whole series of crystals inside of you! So keep going, keep pushing!
I think sometimes people who have mental illness (myself included) forget that the reason we may be so tired all the time, is because we’re expending our energy with internally fighting inside ourselves. We’re using up our energy to tackle anxiety, or depression, or whatever the case may be. Fighting against that, along with doing daily chores? Studying? Keeping up with life in general? It can be EXHAUSTING.
So don’t ever feel bad if you need to take a breather for a small while. Don’t feel guilty for needing to nap and replenish those energy juices. Your body is amazing in the way that it can tell us what we need. You gotta take care of yourself, so don’t for a second believe that rest and recooperation has a time restraint on it. Everyone grows at different paces, and that includes rest. So keep growing.
Okay listen up folks! You shouldn’t reconnect with toxic people just because you’re lonely. No matter what you convince yourself, you’ll end up feeling worse and potentially more lonely as a result. That shit ain’t right. Don’t drink poison just because you’re thirsty.
Now more than ever, studyblr’s and positive blogs are needed. With everything that’s been happening across the world, this is our chance to help. It may not seem like much, but even if it’s to make someone laugh for a short while, or give them neat and creative ideas on how to spend their time. To help them work from home and study with minimal distraction. People need us. It’s our chance to help beyond the realm we thought was possible. For all those blogs out there dedicated to study, self care and positive energy: keep doing what you’re doing. Let your good vibes be a strength to others.
