I need some explanation from the lore master 🙏
Did Primis Richtofen collected his ultimis giant’s soul in the cutscene ? I see as much people saying he did that people saying he didn’t. I’m lost
💫 Hi hi!! The lore master is here, and most assuredly at your service! Sit down, get comfortable, and let’s get into this, shall we?✨
💫 Primis Richtofen does something very sneaky during the opening cut scene of The Giant: He pretends to take his own soul so that the others don’t ask him questions later on (and also to try and establish trust through leading by example!) So, the short answer is: No, he doesn’t take his own soul in The Giant’s opening cut scene. But, we can do better than that, walk with me, friend!! I’ll explain everything!✨
✨ Our question now becomes ‘How do we know he was pretending?’ And this can be proven very easily in all the other ending cut scenes in the Primis Storyline! Let’s start with Gorod Krovi. When Richtofen lifts the summoning key toward the sky and sends the souls inside it up to Agartha, we don’t see his soul there with the others:
✨and secondly, when Richtofen uses the summoning key, it has this brilliant golden glow! But, we don’t see that in The Giant’s cut scene. Let’s compare: ✨
💫 Gorod Krovi:
💫 Zetsubo No Shima:
💫 Der Eisendrache:
💫The Giant:
💫 So, with the proof that he was only pretending to take his own soul, wouldn’t that mean he still has his? It’s a logical conclusion, but no, he doesn’t. Now our question becomes: ‘How and when did Richtofen take his own soul?’ The ‘when,’ we can’t be too sure of because it happens off screen, but the ‘how’ is actually answered in Bo4! Specifically, it’s Templar Richtofen (the one who betrays Primis Richtofen and leaves him to die in Blood of The Dead,) who tells us! ✨
✨ I will link a video 🌟HERE!🌟 for you to check out (Go to time stamp: 8:20,) but I’ll also transcribe what he says here for your convenience:
“[…] Wouldn’t you like to hear a story? A story you’ve never heard? A sad story? […] It’s a story of dimension 2210, the story of mein soul- By the way, you’re nodding, Nikolai. I can only assume The Kronorium already showed you the whole sorry tale? Well, for the benefit of the peanut gallery: I was just a boy then, an innocent. I was a sensitive child. A lonely child, orphaned at a young age. I never got to know who I really was, but one day, I learned who I would grow up to be. I- …Had to do it. The Kronorium told me. I…Had to trick the poor, little, innocent me into trusting a complete stranger. […] I took mein own soul before it could ever have the chance to flourish…Is it any wonder I am the way I am?” - Templar Richtofen, Tag Der Toten.
✨ In all versions of our beloved characters we’ve had so far, they all seem to have certain events that stay the same between them. So, even though this isn’t our Primis Richtofen, we can safely assume that Primis Richtofen did this as well as Templar Richtofen. (But, for clarification, Ultimis Richtofen didn’t do this. Just the Templar and Primis versions.) Primis Richtofen had several solo adventures before meeting up with his crew at The Giant, so this likely happened during one of those solo journeys since he says he had The Kronorium! ✨
✨ So, for clarification: Primis Richtofen didn’t take his own soul from his Ultimis counterpart because there was no soul for him to take. Primis Richtofen already took his own soul from his child self in dimension 2210 before the events of The Giant!✨
✨ I hope I’ve explained this well, and thank you so much for your question!! Any further questions, don’t be afraid to ask!! ✨
