After using Paiste 2002s for years I started looking for cymbals with a much shorter controlled decay. I didn't want to get in the way of the vocals all the time. I liked the sound of the Sabians on a Rockschool Grade Six performance video - I contacted the drummer to ask the identity of the cymbal set up and they turned out to be AAXplosions. I bought a 15" cymbal as a test. I fell instantly in love. It sounded like someone was catching/damping the cymbal every time I hit it. I loved it. Just what I wanted. I bought a cymbal pack for an incredibly low price even on credit. The set also came with a 21" raw bell dry ride.
