Realizing I don’t think I’ve ever posted my other Jedi oc-
My friend's Codru-Ji Monk named Rislu-Ko. <3 I think her design was really cute and I'm happy I was able to get this done for Art Fight. (I got it submitted during the last 2 hours on the last day)
Based on a moment from last night's SWTOR session XD Character is a friend of mine's Codru-Ji bounty hunter, Wilt! 🐺
(For every kill, he adds a new bell to his ride)
Colossal thanks to the always-talented @cadhla182 for this delightful picture of my Codru-Ji Sorceress, Vila Drakkim, for our Star Wars Saga Edition game!!!
Art trade with sir_squiggleton on IG!
me who’s had these ocs for a whole year and is only showing them off now 🏃♀️
Anyway quick intro time!!
This is Talak Kazar(Codru-Ji) (He/him)- He’s really grouchy for a jedi and always looks tired 😮 Younglings don’t think to go near him cuz they think he hates kids, which is completely true-
Next one is Zyr’ra Soo (Nautolan)(She/her) :o She’s a bad@$$ but like, has really low patience and is also the equivelent to the parent who’d give a 6 hour lecture if you accidentally let something slip out when you’re telling a story- She’s also once scrolled through an entire plot of a holonet anime just to understand what her padawan was talking about in her frequent rambling 😭
Yet a nother drawing the gang kinda thing, this time Star Wars themed split into (from top to bottom) neutral, rep and imp.
This time I actually made my friends go look for all of the references themselves which turned into a bit of a hot mess in some situations, I also gave no limitations in terms of what era or species they could be so I got no clue how inaccurate or accurate any of these looks lore-wise are. I have no idea what ever is going on with the four-armed species, all I know is that they are called Codru-ji and are at some point in their life a six legged wolf (???) before pulling a caterpillar, entering a cocoon and coming out as a humanoid soooo...yeahhhh.
At least I had a ton of fun drawing them even tho my artstyle is once again fluctuation more than the value of any NFT out there lul.
I think the fluctuation in my artstyle mostly stems from me not really having a solid one yet so what I draw gets influenced a lot by my references, resulting in a in this case slightly more realistic touch in terms of proportions and body built.
Speaking of body: as far as I could tell most of the poses I have been sent from my friend were from both AdorkaStock and JookpubStock over on deviant art, which is noice because I really like their stuff.
EDIT: and yes I know that female twi'lek have cones and not ears, the ears are inentional they are not a msitake, do with that what you will
Star Wars Alien Species - Codru-Ji
Munto Codru was a remote and backwater world in the Outer Rim Territories located within the Codru system on the Overic Griplink, between Pakuuni and the Calamari sector. Its sole sentient species were the Codru-Ji.
Much of the planet's landmass was covered by rugged mountains which were interlocked by large forests. A large proportion of Munto Codru also appeared to be covered by oceans. The planetary capital was at Capital Codru which contained the headquarters of the government as well as the planetary spaceport and the Forbidden Castle. A series of ornate stone castles were scattered across Munto Codru.
During the Clone Wars, the planet was located within Separatist space. For the most part, Munto Codru remained isolated over the centuries, with the Galactic Republic and Galactic Empire leaving the planet alone. What little industry Munto Codru could sustain was devoted almost entirely to the survival of the native Codru-Ji. As a result of this, the Codru-Ji were able to concentrate on their own complicated internal politics.
In 14 ABY, the New Republic Chief of State Leia Organa Solo visited Munto Codru with her children Jaina, Jacen and Anakin as part of her tour of remote member worlds. Unfortunately, her children were kidnapped by agents of Hethrir, the leader of the Empire Reborn, as part of his campaign against the New Republic's authority. Hethrir used the tradition of political kidnappings on the world as a cover, and had his Empire Youth Proctors infiltrate the compound in a skiff and detonate a pressure bomb, which knocked out everyone within its range. Hethrir then took the children off-planet; they would later be rescued.
Following the demise of Hethrir and his Empire Reborn, the planet joined the Galactic Alliance. In 130 ABY, Munto Codru was under the control of Governor Vikar Dorn, who turned it over to Darth Krayt's Galactic Empire. Despite this, the Galactic Alliance Remnant still had some influence on the world.
Highly xenophobic, Codru-Ji were reluctant to allow members of other species access to their society. Although not particularly afraid of off-worlders, the Codru-Ji were concerned that outside influences would "rub off" on their society. Several aspects of their culture, such as ritual kidnapping of children of political rivals, were considered barbaric by galactic standards, and as such the Codru-Ji thought it best to remain removed from the greater galactic scene.
Ornate stone castles were scattered across Munto Codru. These castles were produced not by the Codru-Ji, but by an unknown extinct civilization. Many Codru-Ji avoided these castles, considering them to be haunted. However, they were sometimes used as provincial capitals.
The Codru-Ji had a highly differentiated two-stage life cycle separating adults from adolescents. Codru-Ji children were born as meter long canids with the six limbs that were distinctive of all Codru-Ji. These pups, known as Wyrwulves, were frequently mistaken by outsiders as no more than family pets, an impression aided by their inability to speak in anything more than snarls and growls. The juveniles were sociable, often licking guests as a sign of greeting, however, they could also deliver a strong bite to deter attackers. Wyrwulves were given affectionate nicknames such as "Hrika" or "Lirri" and did not receive their real names until adulthood. Wyrwulves mature for 8 years before entering a cocoon. They remained in this rubbery blue cocoon for a period of a few weeks before emerging in adult form.
Adult Codru-Ji appeared as humanoids, albeit with four arms. They lost the thick pelt of their earlier form, but retained other features such as their strong skin. Codru-Ji hearing extended to a supersonic level undetectable to many species. Of their four limbs, Codru-Ji had one primary hand, with which they were most skilled. The remainder were "off hands", though still utile. An unusual trait of the Codru-Ji was that they slept standing upright. They developed sleeping harnesses to secure adults in this position. Adults could learn quickly using one hand; they could then duplicate their ability with all their limbs. They could go days without food and water and had senses that allowed them to scan the surrounding area.
Some scientists speculated that the Codru-Ji were descended from a highly advanced, yet extinct, species that left a number of ruins on Munto Codru.
A typical Codru-Ji male stands at 1.6 meters or 5.2 feet tall and weighs 65 kilograms or 143 pounds, while a typical Codru-Ji female stands at 1.6 meters or 5.2 feet tall and weighs 60 kilograms or 132 pounds.
Codru-Ji age at the following stages:
1 - 8 Child
9 - 12 Young Adult
13 - 44 Adult
45 - 60 Middle Age
61 - 84 Old
Examples of Names: Adaavi, Deceven, Jorrdu, Ketanna, Merasska, Raiko, Veesani, Zallfric.
Languages: Codruese was spoken by the native Codru-Ji species. The younger Codru-Ji, under the shape of Wyrwulves, could not speak this language, but they could understand it.
Codruese used snarls, whines and throaty barks, as well as some other canine noises, making it more suitable to the dog-like Wyrwulf than to Human-looking Codru-Ji. Codruese also had a complex lexicon and many idioms, making it a difficult language.
