Cogitarisexual: an ace-spec microlabel for individuals who only experience sexual attraction within their own head. They may feel as though they experience sexual attraction when they imagine a specific individual, but the attraction only exists in their imagination and they do not experience a desire or urge to act on the attraction in real life. Cogitarisexual individuals experience little to no sexual attraction in real life.

The term Cogitarisexual has unknown origins but has existed since at least February 2018, a flag was created by mod Vasilisa via Tumblr blog Beyond MOGAI Pride Flags on or before February 21st 2018 (link).

An alternate flag was created by Tumblr user momma-mogai-sphinx on or before February 20th 2019 (link).

Stripe Meanings:

The dark grey on the outer edges of the flag symbolize the "walls" of ones mind, where the bright red represents the "welling up" of attraction (and the lighter shade represents how it may fluctuate in intensity). As the black of the asexual flag represents a lack of attractions, so the black of the cogitari flag stands for a lack of any desire to act on one's attractions.

The original cogitarisexual flag didn't lend itself very well to my "attractional" formatting, so I hope the flag's creator doesn't mind me adding an extra stripe. I also went ahead and remade the flag, since the BMPF version, while a fine flag, is just a bit odd to me. You can find a whole set of my own cogitari- flags here.

"The idle mind is a dangerous place to be left in"-Anderson. Paak Only when we listen to our thoughts, only then will we understand how powerful we truly are. In the hopes of understanding the world we live in, unintentionally we find ourselves setting obstacles. These hindrances later become the lessons we identify by. Is the discomfort of man the only educational advantage we possess? Some would argue that pain is an incentive, which assures a lesson learned. As the inhibitors and creators of our reality, those that display the most control, show the patience and discipline necessary to learn, as well as progress in the many avenues of life. People become dependent on pain of ignorance; it’s then later disguised as our world, which in turn becomes what we pass on as reality to future generations. If we are the architects, and what we want is a better world, then why advocate for things that don’t better our thought?
