🎬 Another cold read that I am fond of. It took me almost 4 years to figure out how to be this simple. I don't know if that makes me a slow learner or a fast learner. . My analysis is… on the good side... great simplicity. Solid listening. The lack of eye movement is spectacular - that’s the part that impresses me the most. Played some good actions, and most moments were filled. Different notes. I enjoy it. . On the bad side... a few moments clearly aren’t strong or filled. Obviously pacing wasn’t always great. Also, there is some rigidity in the physicality, and stakes could have been higher. Didn’t really play out the scene at the end either. . In regards to the bad aspects, for some reason I don't actually mind them in this scene. The weren't that bad, plus this was just a cold read lol. So to see a few good moments and to have some solid technique... well, that was the focus and so seeing that was encouraging. That's why I am fond of this clip. This is the first time ever where I felt like I understood at any level what it mean to just be there; to be simple and listen and respond. It’s a good place to build from 😊 . This was in @tedrooney's cold read class, October 2018. I don’t know the name of the person who read with me. . P.S. My favorite line in it is, "Fine, I'll go to town." It reminds me of an actor I spend a lot of time studying. Seeing that is how I know it's seeping in. . #Actor #Acting #Model #ColdRead #Actorcise #ActingClass #MarlonBrando #BradPitt #JamesDean #EAA #EngageArtists #SLU #SLUagency #Portland #PDX #LA #Hollywood #Farm #SpilledMilk #DontCry (at Rooney/Totman Acting Studio) https://www.instagram.com/p/BviaUv_AhUk/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=1vx9orz6e0cso
