Colorado Sunset. 💜🖤
Sunset by the Creek
3 October 2025 - Friday Field Notes
Autumn creeps in and then it's gone... Been spending my days squirreling away native plant seeds and cursing the fact that the Cheat Grass is already growing.
Fall here usually just feels like a slightly less hot summer until it snows. Then it's winter, where we alternate between below freezing temperatures one day and warm enough to wear shorts the next day.
Anyway, I'm going to be away from the prairie for a bit because I'm going on vacation and getting married. I might bop in on occasion but I'll probably be around even less then usual. Enjoy the queue while I'm gone, and don't get into any trouble you can't get out of!
I'll probably have an inordinate number of pictures of plants from a completely different ecoregion when I get back.

Totally worth it
The sky is ablaze with the soft, golden light of the setting sun, casting warm tones across the landscape. Silhouetted trees and fields frame the horizon, creating a peaceful and captivating scene. As day transitions into night, the beauty of the sunset reminds us of nature’s ability to paint the sky in a moment of quiet serenity.
