Where the heck have I been???
Hello to all of my lovely followers! Thank you for all of the questions, I apologize if they were a little late to be answered. Just a quick update on my life, I just recently graduated college and moved so it has been a little hectic. I’m hoping to be more available if any questions or requests arise! Hope you all had a wonderful end of the season and have a happy summer!
I GOT COLORGUARD CAPTAIN
It's over. I'm no longer captain anymore. I passed the gock block on to the new captains. I wish them the best of luck next year. It's kind of a bittersweet feeling. It was stressful, but so very rewarding. I learned so much about myself and how to be a better person and leader. I will never forget this experience. And now, onto improving the guard program at my high school. I just can't get away from this sport, can I? Everything ends, and so our story begins haha.
falling in love w strangers
so today my band had our annual invitational where bands from around michigan come to perform and be judged and whatnot. my band performed, but we weren't competitive (bc that would be cheating) and i, being one of the colorguard captains, handed out awards at the very end. (one drum major passed out, but that's not the point here.)
so there was this one guy (drum major? percussion captain??) in the Petosky marching band. he was average cute, but his smile. oh, god, his smile was so sweet and i can't stop thinking about it and ugh i just can't. like, i feel like i connected with this guy so much just because he smiled at me, and now he's back in Petosky and I'll never see him again.
brb literally gonna cry bc i'm ovulating and i have no idea what it was about just this guy's smile that has me so shaken up.
hello.
i am slowly losing my mind. i am so nervous for captain auditions tomorrow. everyone keeps saying "calm down you'll be fine" but no. im having war flashbacks to every guard mistake i have every made. I even end up dreaming about it to where everytime i drop or hit myself i wake up and twitch like i actually got hit. there is so much pressure to do well tomorrow. its like everyone is expecting me to be amazing cause ive done this before. but no... last year when i auditioned for sectionleader i dropped. twice. and im so scared that it will happen again. please if you have any wise words of advice i would love anything because i might just go insane.
so captain auditions could have been better. but im proud of myself bc ive had so many things going on in my life, and i still didnt give up. even tho its wasnt the best routine, it was still a routine. and im proud that i pushed myself to audition, even tho i know im not going to get it.
Wish me luck! I have my captain interview in an hour and a half! Super nervous! Any last minute reminders/advice would be super helpful!!
