About your twin flames AU- What happens to Donnie and Raph? Where are they now? Are they just accepting that Leo and Mikey are gone like the we’re going to in the movie? Nothing Can Unring This Bell

When Mikey’s portal closes, it’s deafening silent on Staten Island.

Donnie’s ears are ringing.

Raph is on the ground. again. This time, choked with grueling, rumbling sobs.

Life is a sick joke. Giving you a miracle- just to pull it out from under your feet.

Twin Flames AU is a story about Hope Vs. Despair, and how each brother mirrors the other.

Raphael is in pieces. He swore to protect his little brothers. And, in a cruel twist of fate, he lost two of them in one day. Orange and blue stripped from his spectrum of light. It’s over.

And then there’s Donnie,

There’s another moment of shock, staring up at the explosion, processing what else just happened.

Then, Donnie sees his big brother on the ground again, wracked with loud, rumbly sobs.

And the gears in his brain start turning.

When Donnie saw the explosion, he knew the odds of Leo surviving were next to nothing.

But seeing that glimpse of his twin through the portal, still alive, his mind revved back into action.

Statistically, Leo’s odds of survival increased with Mikey being pulled in after him. As devastating as that fact was.

They just had to survive long enough to get them back out.

Mikey hadn’t given up on Leo, so why should Donnie give up on him? On his twin? After all, they were the Greatest Ninja and the Mystic Warrior.

So now, Donnie just needs a rescue plan.

Thank you for your ask! I’ve been really excited to explore how the brains and brawns are dealing with the situation! And there is still more to come!

TLDR; Raph basically breaks down, assuming both Mikey and Leo are doomed.

Donnie, however, seeing his twin is still alive- knows their survival chances together are way better than apart. Mikey hadn’t given up on Leo, so why would Donnie give up on him?

Introducing a new Rottmnt AU of mine! Rise: Twin Flames

I've been sketching ideas for a 'Baja Blast duo in Hell' story, for about a month now. I'm really excited to share what I have! (I've searched high and low for an AU like this, and I'm surprised there isn't really one out there?? If YOU know a portal bros PD AU, PLEASE LMK!!)

Synopsis:

Mikey knows the risks, opening the portal to rescue Leo. Having his mystic power fizzle out (a death sentence for Leo), or even worse- re-releasing Kraang Prime into New York (un-saving the world with no guarantee of getting his brother back). He understands, there on Staten Island, that Leo was worth the chances. Because he wasn't giving up on him.

And when golden rays splinter through the fabric of space, revealing a battered- but surviving -Leo, that's all Mikey needs. Chains of light burst through the void, entangling his brother in a radiant warmth.

'This is it,' Mikey tells himself, "Pull Leo out. Close the portal. World officially saved!' (World, having an entirely new meeting after what Leo just did.) Relief swells in his chest, ready for this nightmare to be over.

There isn't a second to react-

Claws. Gigantic, sharp, sleek- pierce through the veil of darkness, intercepting the chains that tether Mikey to what he holds dearest.

And what Mikey didn't anticipate, was being pulled in, and his portal fizzling out.

Installments will usually be in the form of digitally-colored sketches, infodumps, or the occasional rendered artwork. Ideally, this work would be in comic form, but I'm not ready for that.

Based on, "howling ghosts, they reappear," written by @goodlucktai. You can read it here. This wonderful fic reminded me of an old, cut song from EPIC: The Musical. Your Light is a song I've always associated with the portal duo. And now, this fic gave me an excuse to share my dream.
