Today's post is purposely cheesy and uplifting to counter the very serious post I made yesterday. The next few paragraphs will be me doing some *super* nerdy gushing about a favorite 90s sitcom I've been binging lately. You have been warned...⠀ ⠀ If you were watching TGIF in the early 90s (like I was), you'll recognize this quote from #PerfectStrangers. I've been in a weird headspace lately, and when that happens I seek comfort TV. All eight seasons of Perfect Strangers were just put on Hulu, and it couldn't have come at a better time.⠀ ⠀ The adventures of Balki and his (Cousin) Larry brought back a lot of memories of my siblings and I watching TV together on Friday nights, little me making Balki my imaginary friend, and the overall feel-good nature of the show. Adult me can see the whole picture - the scheming, its somewhat unbelievable nature, but, most of all, the feelings of camaraderie, compassion, and comfort illustrated by the friendship of the main characters. I know this is why little me - with my unsure nature and few friends - was been attracted to such a show. ⠀ ⠀ When you're having a low moment, writer's block, the arrest of the flow of inspiration, doubting yourself - reach for your comfort TV. Sometimes it's just what you need. ⠀ #selfcare #comfortTV #90skid #throwback #nerdygirl #cringeworthy⠀ ⠀
